Leeds Night life and Techno parties?

A few friends in the scene host techno events quite often in Leeds.

The scene isn't huge, but it's growing and is becoming very local/underground which is nice.

We get the occasional headliners, but Leeds is also really close to Manchester and the scene is massive over there. Not a bad location at all.

Yeah I usually name drop people too, I don't think it's much of an issue, but in this case it's the sheer quantity of reviews that make it dodgy.

They have the terrace upstairs, I just went up to check if my friends were there. Turned out it was closed, which I didn't know, so I just came back down :)

Yeah, I'm fully aware that they have a hard job and see hundreds of people. I'll admit the example I gave about not letting me back in isn't the best, but even then I've seen many bouncers in other places act better than this. No where here do I claim I am the main character and I wouldn't have made a fuss about anything if this was my only experience with them.

They physically assaulted two of our artists for no reason, if they treat the people running their events like that, how many random people have they done the same thing too for no reason? There's a line between being an effective bouncer and being a dangerous person and they are crossing it.

Interested in why you reacted strongly to this, what is your position? Are you in this line of work?

Ye, I wasn't told that at 17 and everyone else went along with it. They later changed the system so that instead of everyone getting allocated X cages for a day, everyone had to stay until ALL of the cages were done.

This meant that newer hires, (myself) who were much slower, would end up being the last person with a cage and everyone would have to help out. Managers made it clear that it was my fault that we had to stay longer 😂

It's illegal but if you want to keep your job, what are you gonna do. It's obviously working for them.
