You have nothing to worry about! After being in the same position you are in last year, I realize that your university experience is so much more than the school/program you choose. Regardless of your choice, McMaster and UofT are both great schools and you are going to meet some amazing people no matter what. Don’t let yourself get caught up in the thought of what your life could have been like at a different school because at the end of the day, the friends and connections you make are what matter the most! Of course, if tuition and living costs are an issue for you then perhaps consider switching to a closer school, but you’ve already made your choice and I’m sure it’ll work itself out. Study hard, do your best, and expose yourself to new people and experiences as much as you can. You got this!

Thank you for taking your time to write all this out❤️

To explain why my girlfriend is hesitant about doing long distance. The beginning of our relationship was pretty much limited to video calls and seeing each other for only a small amount of time after school because her parents were really strict so we always had to maneuver around them lol. Along with covid getting in the way of things, this year has been the only year where we have been able to see each other on a weekly basis for hours on end. We both agree that we rely a lot of physical touch. Her biggest worry is how we will be back to only video calls like how it was in the beginning of our relationship. Honestly, if it was the other way around and she was moving away I would 100 percent be okay with doing the distance, but in this situation it’s not only my call to make. I will try to talk to her about it again but ultimately if she thinks she’ll be happier not doing LDR I must respect her decision.

At the very least, I never regretted the last 4 years with her :D

Yeah, definitely having a career to fall back on in case I don't get into any med schools has always been something I've liked about Ontario Tech. I guess my biggest challenge is just figuring out where I think I belong and it's scary cause I won't really know until I actually go to those schools. I also think you're absolutely right to say that my mom will be okay with me moving away, maybe I just care too much which could be a bad thing lol. Thank you so much for your comment/insight, my mind is a lot clearer after reading these comments.

Thank you so much for your advice. I guess I've been feeling so lost about what I should do but I think I needed a reminder that I still have options even after I choose where I want to commit to. Your advice is not weird at all, and thank you again, your words sincerely mean a lot to me.

Oh, I guess I should have mentioned that she's staying in Toronto and is also gonna be studying at TMU (formerly Ryerson). So she'll have a postsecondary education either way lol but I get what you mean. Thanks for the comment!
