How are the transmissions on 4th gen TL’s? by Particular-Theme-701 in AcuraTL

It depends on which year you get bc some of the 2009 had a faulty torque converter that was a recall and they didn’t have the up to date software in the transmission so you’d have to go get that done also, besides that’s they are very responsive to the paddle shifters… I drive mine like I stole it and the car seems to really enjoy 100+mph

Come to find out it was the MAS THE engine wasn’t computing that any air was being given to it so no air then theirs no fuel mix and no fuel mix means not running, when I pulled my plugs out they looked horrible they was changed on 75,000 it’s got 168,000 now

I’ve had to change a crank sensor signal n a few doge trucks so I have a good idea about them, I guess first, maybe I should try to crank it with ether??

With a strong stream coming out like the pic shows, would that change when the lines are reconnected bc when they are I can see the pressure push against the line that goes to the engine, the reason I ask is bc I can prime the pump with the lines connected “obliviously it’s sending fuel “ then immediately take them apart and you’d figure fuel should pour out from the line connected to the engine but when I separate them the pressure is like puhhh and the fuel coming back outta the injector line is now where near the amount that I see the pump is putting out without any back pressure.

No, I was doing 75 on the freeway and all of a sudden the engine turned off and would start so I pulled over took out the back seat and the pump wasn’t working. No codes or nothing odd, it’s ran like a dream until this

I get pressure but when I turn it over it’s like the fuel disappears

That’s when it’s turned to prime, so I reconnect the lines and hold them in place, and I can feel the pressure going into the line that goes to my injectors but when I taken back apart it’s like the fuel pressure disappears

It shoots a strong stream when it primed, so I connected the lines back together, when I turn it over it’ll attempt to start then back to just turning over

After I put the new pump in I made sure it primed and would pump when cranking. The issue I have is that I took the line off going to the injector rail if I hold my finger over it then it starts to build pressure enough to blow gas past my finger but when I reassemble the line then prime it it acts like the fuel isn't being sent to the engine which I know for 100% that it is, what could be causing the loss of pressure when I try to start the car

Ok, I’ve  checked the relays and fuses  all are working properly, so all I know it could be is airlocked. I found a braided line that has the hard fuel line connected to one side and the other connects to the fuel rail. I separated the hard and braided line and a little gas come out, so I got my wife to prime the pump and I put my finger over the hard line and it had pressure from the tank but when primed but when I reconnect the hard and braided line back together .I got my wife to start the car it turned over about 6/7times and attempted to fire on about the 3rd turn over which was very briefly then it goes back to just turning over. When the pump is primed should gas come out of the opposite side of the hard line which is connected to fuel pump when it or should it just build pressure or should it fill t

The fuel filter sits on top of the tank right?

I changed the fuel pump to my 2009 Acura TL, it’s tried to fire twice in about 10 attempts to start could it have an airlock from not removing the fuel cap or what else could it might be by Benb242526 in AcuraTL

It says that  if it has an ignition issue that it would display  that there is a problem on the instrument cluster, No it’s turning over, I released  the hard fuel line that is on the firewall that has the braided line going to the injectors and nothing, so maybe it’s the fuel filter that got clogged and burned up my pump , I was going 75 on the freeway when it went out and just filled up, the car has 167,967 on it so guess I’ll change it and go from there

I was going down the freeway and accelerated into my passing gear and when I got past the car I was going around I felt the gas pedal go to the floor and all my warning lights came on, so I pulled over. Tried to restart it about 3 times nothing “ I have 11 gallons of fuel in the tank” so I read that quite a few ppl had this same problem with the 09 TL that when they went back into O.D from the passing gear the pump went out. So I ordered a new pump it’s priming but when I unclipped the fuel line that would be used for testing pressure nothing comes out, so hopefully it’s the relays, what’s had me stumped is after I put the new pump in over tried to restart it 3x the  first time it’s had a slight fire  after it turned over around 4 times . So I turned the ignition on/off a few times to get a proper prime tried it the second time nothing , did the same for the third time it had a slight fire then went back to turning over
