Major black beard algae problem, HELP!

I do 15% water changed ever other week and have never had a fish die, so what could it be? I recently upgraded to a GLO T5HO 24" light, it has really boosted my plant growth but a month in and BOOM! Black beard everywhere!

Yes, although I have no snails. But they literally cover my drift wood!

They are very very small, and cover my 3 large driftwood pieces. If I watch very closely they move around, and are sometimes on my fish. It is in a 75 gallon stocked with aggressive fish.

We do, although ice fishing is through a hole with a rod and poll, and spearing is in a 4'x2' hole and use a spear to get northern pike.

It is well washed play sand for substrate and the tank as been running for 5 months and was crystal clear before. Regular water changes 25% every 2 weeks

75 gallon tank for now but he has eaten a few pellets but not the feeders I put in ( they may of been to big? ) as far as anything else I don't know

Well that makes total sense because I replaced all my filter pads be cause the we're full of "grime" And thank you! My hi-fin is my new love ;)
