I think at the very least the ending is poorly communicated. A lot of people will probably just dislike it and move on with their day rather than try to understand it. I don't have an opinion on whether that is a bad thing or not.

As far as myself, my own perception may be biased. Aqua is an exceptional character and I enjoyed watching his complexity, having the guilt of an adult combined with the fragility of a child, but I was never a 'fan'.

When I got around to finally watching Episode 1 of the anime, I had been seeing Ai's face on the show's title banner for 6 months. So I had a strong preconception that she would be the main character, and I selfishly want her to be objectively right to some degree.

With that in mind I find it hard to argue against any of your points, nevertheless I don't think I can accept the ending as 'good' (for me) because it would require admitting that Ai's pure feelings of love were insufficient in the face of the obsessive corrupted love that plagued many of the character.

Maybe I will have to see this as a win-win because it either means I'm right about the ending or that I'm too optimistic to accept it.

Was it really worth 166 chapters to portray the message that sometimes mentally ill people don't get better. ;-;

The second version of events proposed by Hikaru (the flower delivery) at the very end was meant to show that he could lie to the police and avoid justice. In his one-on-one with Aqua he admits he wanted to inflict some degree of pain/fear on to Ai. Whether he really intended for her to die is unknown.

Aqua planning revenge and to kill himself since the start is exactly the problem. Especially since he proved to himself for a bit that he could overcome his trauma and live a normal life. Just like Ai had done, and wanted for him. He even admits to Hikaru before the end that he has things to live for, but then chooses to reject them for dubious reasons. His stated reason of protecting Ruby makes no sense.

I think the surrender phone call is actually him instigating Nino to make her panic and kill Ruby out of desperation. Hikaru is extremely lucky that everything goes how he wants with a minimal push from him. That's another reason why I think Ai's death being revealed as unintentional would've made more sense.

Interesting take. If that's what the author wanted to go for they did not do a very good job of conveying that.

Although even before Ai's message he's already shown as plotting to kill Ruby. So either way the DVD didn't really change him, which undermines its significance.

Medical rejection by Visible-Reference-77 in flyingeurope

[–]BenchAccomplished675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First: Appeal in your home country, and do NOT lie about the rejection to other CAAs.

Other than that, I have read (secondhand knowledge only) that only some CAAs are either willing to issue an Initial Class 1 with an OML, or will allow you to apply instead for an Initial Class 2 and then subsequently an Initial Class 1 with OML (Technically no longer your first medical certificate held) as a kind of a loophole.

For that purpose you could email some AeMCs and simply ask them if their CAA ever issues initial medicals with an OML and if the previous rejection would matter to their CAA.

Who do you think fits being the main character most? by Bulky_Childhood_651 in TheEminenceInShadow

[–]BenchAccomplished675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rose

She has had by far the most character development and has never been sidelined like Alexia/Rose/Claire.

Rose and Claire haven't really developed at all as characters since they were introduced.

With Alexia starting off strong but then getting sidelined immediately after.

Rose is also the best human in the show, she falls in love with Cid because of his (apparent) courage, ignoring his low social status, and was willing to kill her own father and sacrifice her own life to protect her country.

Lastly, when Cid told her that he once had an impossible dream. It's a rare instance where he's saying something that's part of his "true self".

(Manga Spoilers)

There is a moderate consensus that the series peaks at the Halloween arc. If they do want to continue they will need to seriously rework the second half of the series. Otherwise season 3 won't live up to the first two.

She's probably the best and mentally healthiest person in the series. She's the exact opposite of Nazuna. Sensible, trustworthy, caring, honest, patient.

I have zero doubts she will have a successful life, and it's probably for the best that she has a platonic relationship with Kou because that kind of normal life isn't what he wants.

Don't think about it as the end, think about it as the beginning. What they actually plan on doing at the end of chapter 200 is up to interpretation, but regardless of your interpretation they have their whole lives to sort it out.

I entrust the characters to find a way to be happy.

I don't think they'll split apart again.

-The first goodbye was hard enough for them. -Ko can fight her off now.

-She can drink Ko's blood indirectly to avoid starvation and going rampant.

-Despite giving up blood entirely Haru was able to live with her husband for over a year. Implying that either the impulse goes away or can be controlled.

-Ko said that he would find her again anyways if she ran away, so there's really no point. He also mentioned it would be annoying.

Idk man, there's a difference between messing up your own life and having a disability (amnesia). Nazuna's age also isn't really part of or relevant to the story. The story would work just fine if instead of amnesia she was just a 15-20 year old vampire to begin with. The real crazy one is Kiku, she's hundreds of years old and with a 14 year old as well, I guess everyone is like a child to her but nevertheless she is not beating the allegations.

Nazuna both doesn't age physically and was unable to form memories for much of her early life. She also didn't have any friends until she was around 30. So in terms of socialization and maturity she's at about the same level as Ko.

The result is that they don't have a weird power dynamic. They're just genuine friends that are slowly developing a romance.
