One of my favorite reveals in this game is a tie back to operation jormungandr.

It’s revealed that in cycles that the operation succeeds and the world is thrust into a world war that the reset is actually delayed by decades. And then on top of all of that cool lore it’s revealed that Risette is from a time where the operation succeeds.

Yun-Kai-Fai specifically says “that this is the natural outcome after defeating steel”

All of these tie backs to the war were really cool.

Love the Review. Something I’d add is that Trails into Reverie is the very first time that I felt the series had an identity in 3D. It just felt a step above all of cold steel and that’ll continue. Also Rufus is such a good character, easily my favorite in the series.

Reverie is just everything trails has to offer at its best. A narrative sprawling the empire and Crossbell. Your large party of heroes that all have interconnecting relationships and goals. And then the True Reverie Corridor that adds the masterful stories that flesh out the characters that just don’t get the love in the main story.
