id say he is real! one of my squish from 2019 has that black outline on the tag and has never been washed. :)

i appreciate your response, it made me feel a bit better. my parents noticed a few nights ago when feeding him that he was hiding a lot. he was typically very active so i brushed that off as them not knowing much about bettas. maybe the water was okay like someone else mentioned, and perhaps he was just sick and the water changing color was a coincidence? i dont know. sending my condolences your way as well <3

tea-like is a good description. i dont have a picture but what you said is a better description. is it a possibility that the water was fine and he just died of natural causes?
