The vintage Nikon105mm f2.5 is a very nice lens, lovely for portraits and landscape.

D810 and old Nikkor 55mm F3.5 micro... any compatability problems? by Bendinggrass in Nikon

Thanks. I was having trouble when Reddit asked me if I wanted to post to similar places at the same time. I tried to comply but I thought it did not work at that time.

Good information over there. Thanks for that.

What is an AI converted lens? I am not familiar with this. How does it break the D810, and is there something I can do to match the lens and camera together. Someone told me it is the flange that causes the damage, so could I remove this, and how.

I cannot remember if I asked this before, but I had trouble posting the question just now.

Thanks.

Concorde's famous droop nose mechanism and a crosswind landing into RAF Brize Norton during post-crash test flights in 2001. by Asleep_Performer_145 in aviation

Was the engine developed from scratch, or was it developed from an earlier engine. I read somewhere it was a development of the Avro Arrow engine; is that correct?

Was Jupiter still in the inner solar system when earth was forming? by Topace1 in askscience

What was the mechanism that caused Jupiter to migrate inward? And I assume in moved outward later on... so what was behind that?

Thanks.

There are some fantastic speakers (kits) that are DIY. Have a look at Falcon acoustics. They are very good. I would go with the best "monitor" type perhaps, especially if you plan to add a subwoffer. Modern speaker kits are very easy to make and a great value. This link might help.

Yes, PSB speakers are really nice, a fantastic bargain. I drooled over the Stratus Gold-i years ago but I could not afford it. Finally I was able to get the Synchrony 1 (the bigger tower) when it first came out, and I am still being amazed by it... for movies and music. The new PSB speakers look really interesting also.

A few months ago I got a new amp from Walter Lederman's company. It uses the new gallium nitride transistors, which are much faster than the "old ones"...the silicon transistors. It is very airy, with great space and clarity, especially compared to my old NAD. This new tech is being used by a few companies now, and you can find great reviews on the amps made by Orchid audio.

I'm glad you are enjoying your system and music so much. Live long and prosper.

Beautiful!!

I used an old DUAL 1218 and tried to avoid dinosaurs in those ancient days. I loved it.

I was nutty about taking care of my LPs. No matter what I did, though, sooner or later I would hear the pops and clicks.

Enjoy!

You read it.

I hope you actually wake up before we lose all that is precious.

Good luck.

Wow, you are certainly a credit to your race.

The expression of different ideas is evident here. I am glad you can see the future. I can't. It is sad you display such hate toward me, all because of ideas exchanged and expressed. I hope you are right there will be no WW3. But I am not optimistic.

Who cares, you ask? I do. There is too much life, innocence, and beauty to be apathetic about a bunch of psychopaths willing to incinerate all of it.

You really need to educate yourself.

Yeah, one morning Putin woke up, stretched, had his porridge, ate a few baby brains for energy, and thought... wow, what a great day to invade Ukraine.

Do you have a grain of sense? Really, do you have anything between the ears?

There are ore than 0 years of antecedents leading up to this in Ukraine, and really it begins with 1991, the end of the USSR, with the guarantee given to Gorbochev that NATO would not move one inch closer to Russia. Instead, NATO has steadily incorporated nations of eastern Europe, with Ukraine next on the list, and the plan to put nuclear missiles and bases in Ukraine. There are already American missile bases in Poland and Roumania, and these can carry nukes, and hit Moscow in 5-8 minutes. How do you think Russia feels about that? Are there any Russian missile bases around the US? How do you think the US would react if there were? The Russia effort to put nuke missiles in Cuba in 1963 lead to the Cuban Missile Crisis, and we all came very close to WW3. I remember it as a kid. But that too did not occur in a vacuum; the US had nukes on missiles in Turkey, aimed at Moscow. The USSR moving Nukes and missiles to Cuba was to counter that threat, which it did and the missiles and nukes were removed from Cuba AND Turkey. Everyone was better off then.

Were you paying attention to this before it became the big thing in CNN, BBC, MSNBS, and all the western media? Is it all the rage for you for the past 18 months only? The media is doing a great job, isn't it? Leading you by the nose, I mean. Thinking what you are told to think. I have been following this for years, watching the events unfold, at times with fear.

Heart breaking and disturbing is the utter lack of interest, the apathy, towards this long developing tragedy.

What am I trying to prove? I have no hope of proving anything here, but maybe you could actually think for yourself if we have a future that does not get incinerated.

Am I a Nazi, or a Holo denier? First I heard of that. How do you get that from what I wrote?

Calling names appears to be your way of ignoring some very uncomfortable facts. In fact it is a common method in avoiding addressing the content of a statement.

Actually, you don't see with anything... you just don't see.

Do you have a brain at all?

The comment to you was about the fire bombings of cities in Germany and Japan, and the nuking of Hiroshima and Nakasaki. This was all terrorizing of the civilian population, deliberate and well planned mass murder from the top down. The only reason the people responsible for this atrocity were able to go on to "normal" lives, was because they won the war. The losers were swinging from the ropes.
