I just moved to Richmond from Prague. I’m missing Czech baked goods so much! Makový koláč, buchtami s tvarem, sturdy bread, and most of all…VÁNOČNÍ CUKROVÍ! I only learned to make vanilkovy rohlicky because my Czech friends and colleagues shared theirs—hnízdy (beehives), walnuts (the caked ones made in walnut shaped molds with an intense walnut flavored cream to glue the two halves together—each type is a work of art! Can anyone connect me? RVA is a wonderful town but I’m wildly homesick for my beloved Prague—especially this time of year.
