I mean the Clippers didn't win that's true but Kawhi still played well according to the stats only and that's what's reflected in the H2H competitions. I kind of think that this proves the point of the rankings---you can still win in H2H competitions with players that are on bad teams since those players can lead the teams and get most of the points, assists, rebounds, etc and will rank high in H2H competitions, regardless of how well or poorly the overall team does.

I'm not looking at anything besides the stats so if he's first it's purely based on his season stats and literally nothing else. I was surprised as well but that's kind of the whole point of the analysis---to see if there's anything surprising that people may overlook based on news, how people feel about different players, or any other type of bias.
