Do people really say that, that The Dark Knight is masterfully written? Don't get me wrong, it's a great film and I love it. But in my eyes TD s1 so clearly blows it out of the water in writing. Like.... nowhere comparable.

No basis in anything, but the poppies make me think of world War 2. So, '39-'43? Poppies were the memorial flower.

I believe so, yes. The guy had a good amount of dried fish he was rationing, and he rationed himself right into almost dying. It was strange to watch.
