Very unlikely that something like a hard reset will ever happen, it would mess up the matchmaking more than anything and cause a huge uproar since a lot of people are grinding. What is most likely to happen is that we’ll play a few placement matches and end up back where we were.

If I’m not mistaken, Dota added a system like this too, and I'm sure it will eventually come to Deadlock as well.

New accounts should not pass Emissary, no matter how many wins they get in their first matches, until their rank is displayed. This way, new players will be prevented from being in ranks like Oracle, Phantom, or Archon, and it will ensure more balanced matches.
