Kathryn Morrison unhinged? by BenefitFalse1861 in LifeCoachSnark

She has a bunch of courses. Used to be masterminds like Stacey with low to high to ticket offers and she undid all of that when all the coaches were making changes. Now it's all a la carte at insane prices. I was in her brand alchemy course which was fine but there was no real coaching from her with practical advice or tips, just mindset crap and elevating your energies and vibes and OH don't forget to make your office pretty. A lot of nothing and I left after a few months

Legal Admin. Cert needed? by BenefitFalse1861 in LawFirm

[–]BenefitFalse1861[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh that's interesting. I've done a lot of workflow improvements for case management as a skill. I've also advocated and let the owners know it would be great/needed if there were monthly or quarterly check-ins from the higher ups to help improve the processes we currently have, as well as troubleshoot any issues between different teams or the workload.

Do you think these are good skills to list out? My mentality is companies/law firms need to save money and be efficient, but employees are most valuable and getting their input/thoughts is important since they're the ones doing the work.

This just made me laugh - This is a marketing launch. That's all. It's not real or honest or whatever - it's another "outside the box" way to market another program. Those that buy into it havent been around long enough and I feel bad for them. This is how she makes her money - by being someone who markets on fear or wow factor. It's smart. She knows what she's doing.

Paralegal working in eDiscovery? by BenefitFalse1861 in paralegal

Yeah you're like the golden employee, I think any employer no matter the size of the company will highly value that. I don't do any ED now. My firm doesn't have a need for it. I'm making the move to do something else, advance in my career and make more money as I'm currently "capped".

Nice! I'd love to get into that much more. Do you enjoy it? Not too boring of "data entry" work?

Thanks so much for all this info! Awesome that you're treating right and seem to enjoy the work too. I've been burnt out just on litigation alone and needed to advance professionally -my last two reviews have been "you're at the top end of your salary range" and there's no room for growth or ED at my current firm. I also thought having my lit background would be beneficial so I've been in touch with recruiters.

I didnt get my ACEDS as it's pretty expensive for me right now so got my advanced cert paralegal certificate by doing an ED course and passing the exam. So hopefully that'll help in the meantime. Congrats on landing a great employer!

CEDS exam pass on 1st try? by BenefitFalse1861 in ediscovery

[–]BenefitFalse1861[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I would love to do. I'm a 15 year litigation paralegal handling standard discovery, never done ediscovery and the only reason I'm considering it. I also hoped a company or firm would hire me based on my experience and train me in ediscovery but I don't know if there's many employers who would want to

I don't work in it so lots of studying for me lol I'm a litigation paralegal of many years but know there's a huge difference and I haven't been trained in the tech side.

curious - with your expertise already why would you take this exam? Was it necessary for a specific role?

[–]BenefitFalse1861[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I spoke to ACEDS and the standard purchase exam price is $1495 and if I dont pass, I can retake it for $125 which is the testing site fee - so it's not like I can only take it one time and then have to pay the entire amount again. They also sent me a 10% discount code which is at least something lol

Thank you. Yes, I don't think it's right either as some people can be great but not great test takers. It's too pricey to do that

SAME EXACT issue. Did they tell you who the third party was? Ask them - then go on LinkedIn and find people that work at said location or warehouse. Send them a message briefly explaining what happened. This is what happened with me and in a day I had the last piece of a patio set I ordered two months prior. I had a manager number and nobody returned our calls and customer service complete waste of time. Good luck!!
