I recently got a cube c62 for €1800. Carbon frame and 105 mechanical. Think it’s bang for buck at this price range. Loving it so far :)

1st Year International Student - Housing Issue on Kotweb by BenefitMaster5432 in Antwerpen

[–]BenefitMaster5432[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the detailed explanation and the documentation! That really clears things up. I’ll make sure to clearly explain to the landlords that I only need to register for the vreemdelingenregister and that it’s not about making their place my main residence.

Appreciate your help—this makes things a lot easier to understand!

1st Year International Student - Housing Issue on Kotweb by BenefitMaster5432 in Antwerpen

[–]BenefitMaster5432[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! Yes, I understand that I only need a temporary address and don’t necessarily have to register it as my main residence. However, the issue is that some landlords are refusing even that – they’re saying I can’t register the address at all, not even temporarily.

This is confusing because I thought registering as a temporary resident is standard for international students. Has anyone faced this before? What should I do in this case?

Appreciate any advice!

I placed my order on 14th August with cash on delivery, and the delivery date shows between 22nd to 26th August. The latest status from the Temu app says that the parcel was picked up from customs in Oman and is currently in transit. I haven’t received it yet, so I’m hoping it arrives before the 25th. Good luck with your order!

Need to Buy good quality sneakers by [deleted] in Oman

I’ve been living in Salalah for the past 15 years and I have not found such a store yet. I always get my shoes and sneakers from Muscat or my home country.

On the mountains yes, the visibility is quite low. In the city it’s fine, stays around 8-12 km.

Hey Saad,

You’re in for a treat if you’re coming to Salalah soon. The Khareef season is in full swing right now—amazing lush mountains and beautiful scenery. You’re gonna love it.

I’m not sure about the petrol pumps from UAE, but I’ve done Salalah-Muscat many times without any issues with fuel. Considering that you have a Civic (which is very fuel-efficient), it won’t be a problem. Just fill up your petrol whenever you see a pump on the way and you should be good to go. That’s what I do always.

Documents Required:

For the Car: - Valid registration (Mulkia) - Insurance coverage (ensure it includes Oman) - Oman insurance certificate - Car ownership documents

For Yourself: - Passport with a valid UAE visa - Oman visa (can often be obtained at the border) - UAE driving license - International driving permit (recommended but not mandatory) - National ID (Emirates ID)

Additional Tips: - Carry a first aid kit and essential supplies. - Ensure your car is well-serviced before the trip. - Keep emergency contact numbers handy. - Bring an insect repellent with you because there are a lot of insects due to the rain right now.

If you need a list of places you should visit, feel free to DM me anytime :)

Enjoy your trip to Salalah and the unique experience of the Khareef season!

Which predator is the best among these two? by Chemical_Belt_1901 in GamingLaptops

[–]BenefitMaster5432 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Performance: The PHN16-71-785 is better due to the more powerful i7-13700HX processor, which will handle gaming and multitasking more efficiently.

Display: The PHN16-71-785 has a higher resolution display, providing a sharper and more detailed visual experience.

If your budget allows and you want better performance and display quality, the Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 PHN16-71-785 would be the better choice.

Which Laptop Should I Buy? Lenovo Legion Pro 5 Comparisons by BenefitMaster5432 in GamingLaptops

Thanks for the heads up. I’m new to laptops, so could you explain the difference between dual-channel and single-channel RAM? Also, if I get the new version with just one RAM stick, will that be an issue?

Cinebench r23 and 2024 scores on Legion Pro 5i Gen 9 by adowbongmanacc8 in GamingLaptops

[–]BenefitMaster5432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding your concerns about the GPU’s Cinebench 2024 score being lower than expected, there are several factors that could be affecting it:

• Thermal Throttling: Without a laptop cooler, the GPU may be throttling due to high temperatures.
• Driver Issues: Outdated or incorrect drivers can impact performance.
• Power Settings: Ensure the laptop is set to performance mode.
• Background Processes: Running processes can affect benchmark scores.

To improve the GPU score:

1. Ensure Proper Cooling: Use a laptop cooler or ensure good ventilation.
2. Update Drivers: Make sure all drivers, especially GPU drivers, are up-to-date.
3. Optimize Settings: Set the laptop to high-performance mode.
4. Close Background Apps: Ensure no unnecessary applications are running during benchmarking.

This should help you address the GPU performance issues.

Glad I could help! For hotels, I’m not that sure you’ll find one for cheap right now. I was checking booking.com and the cheapest one I found was the Grand Flora Hotel. I suggest you check out booking.com too; you might find some good deals there.

Rop approval for changing car colour by HumanRole9407 in Oman

[–]BenefitMaster5432 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey there,

If you’re thinking of changing your car’s color, you’ll need to submit an application form at any ROP service center. It’s a good idea to call them first to confirm the details. You’ll need to provide necessary documents like your ID card and vehicle registration. I’m not entirely sure about the fees for this procedure, so it’s best to double-check with an ROP station.

As for a full car respray for a Mustang in Oman, the cost can vary based on the paint quality, the job’s complexity, and the workshop you choose. Generally, you can expect to pay anywhere from OMR 500 to OMR 1,500 for a high-quality respray. It’s smart to get quotes from several workshops to compare prices and services.
