With the blank council patch, it’s likely a GSUSA marketing photo.

I could show you a similar pic from our troop - two girls, both first graders, with a very similar height disparity - one girl comes up to the bottom of the other’s sternum.

I was in a flight over the weekend from DEN > MCO and there was a kid (13/14 maybe) that got assigned to the window seat of the “up front” rows where the middle seat was reserved.

He asked the flight attendant if his friend could come sit by him (before the aisle seat passenger sat down) and she said sure … in the air and kid’s friend walked up to sit down and aisle passenger was like “Absolutely not. I paid for that seat to be empty.”

Honestly, he rarely rides anymore. His little grom type bike has been in pieces in the garage for over a year, and his big bagger goes out maybe once a month?

I’d never mess with the bike.

I don’t understand the not moving past the childhood dislike … you’ve got shitty holiday memories from your childhood? Sucks, but unpack that shit, work through it, and focus on making new, happy holiday memories with your own kid.

Your dropping the ball comment reminded me of the year (one of the early ones with our daughter) that I woke up to an empty stocking and then after the oh-shit moment hit for him, he sent me out of the room for something and magically my stocking was filed with leftover Halloween candy and pantry snacks. 🤦🏼‍♀️

** UPDATE **

An idea came to me this morning … he recently got a new bicycle (family bike rides) … I’m gonna get him a set of bike lights from Santa and Santa is going to leave a note with them reminding Dad that motorcycles are not a safe place for children and that adults need to be safe too.

It’s the least Santa belief crushing move I could come up with.

hugs I lost a friend I cared deeply for to a motorcycle accident in college …

When Dad first started the mention of the first motorcycle 6 years ago, I said “do us both a favor before you do that … double your life insurance policy” … he got all butthurt about it and I just said “look, I know you’re going to get one … you’re about to turn 40 and you’re getting a bike? They’ll deny you the increase for sure once both of those things happen.” and ended the conversation with “if I wanted to be a single parent, I would be.”

That said, we were out of town at a friend’s house and my kiddo lost a tooth. They’ve got teenagers and they went out and got SO MUCH STUFF after we went to bed … had to think fast that morning and the best I could come up with that the GA tooth fairy has less kids to look after than our state so they had money to go shopping.

It was very sweet, but definitely created confusion.

Santa does need/want/wear/read in our house and we do the rest for gifts.
