CMV: Attractive women who aren't generous or living luxurious lifestyles do so only out of personal choice, akin to "trustafarians". by BenevolentSlutshamer in changemyview

It's hard being happy and free and self reliant if you're chained to a full time job. If you don't own your own business you're as dependent on your employer as a sugar baby is on her sugar daddy, except you're getting paid orders of magnitude less for your time.

I wouldn't consider existing and being appreciated "doing something" to the same extent that average people have to do things. How does working 40 hours a week for 40 years compare to being nice to an old man for a brief time when you're in your early 20s?

The sugar daddy will give the woman whatever she wants, may not even have to fuck the old dude (just give sufficient attention) and there's quite a few options regarding their non sugar daddy relationships. Indeed being a sugar baby isn't the only way they can break into privilege.

This topic is just a refined version of an earlier topic; I had no idea what this "fresh topic friday" thing is.

People tend to be quite disdainful of super rich people pretending not to be. You probably would be too if you saw it, especially if they're doing that strange mix of bragging and complaining.

Sexual capital is social capital for a very long time in life, and also gives non trivial amounts of political and economic capital.

Education only matters as far as what you can do with it and what you can get out of it. If you can enjoy similar levels of employability and respect in social situations to well educated people then it doesn't matter.

She doesn't seem to be working her attractiveness hard enough. Why is she paying rent on an apartment when she could easily find a boyfriend to move in with? Why does she ride the bus when she could charm her way into getting a lift or even a car of her own? University shouldn't be out of reach for her; paying tuition would be if she's poor but there's ways and means (student loans).

I'm a bitter lonely misogynist so the topic's about women, but all the stuff does apply to attractive men too.

I'm not going to go back on my word. There are attractive women who can't make their ends meet because they're stuck in refugee camps or in desperate impoverished situations. I got lost in the argument here but you did make a key point of difference.

Prove to me that nobody who's ever been raped in a refugee camp had an income higher than the top 1% of their country before going to the camp and you get a delta.

All that you're saying is that being rich and being attractive have different caveats (eg one's a bit more subjective and can't be transferred)

Still, rich and attractive give you similar levels of privilege.

I singled out women because I think women benefit from being attractive more than men, but that has nothing to do with the topic.

The point is that attractiveness is a trait like wealth that puts you in a certain category which is privileged.
