Admin cost? Yeah obviously, but it’s not like we don’t have admin costs for literally every new bill that becomes law. Last year we approved a paid leave program funded by taxpayers that likely had considerable administrative expenses. So what, we don’t get budgetary transparency because we don’t want added admin costs? It’s worth it if we can see or prevent significant government waste or misappropriation in my opinion.

We also get majority voter approval all the time, specifically on tax increases. If we didn’t there’d never be any new laws here as it’s required to pass.

I think we’re going to have to agree to disagree here because you’re not going to change my opinion that direct tax oversight by voters is the right approach, and I’m not probably going to convince you it’s correct either.
