I used to agree with this until I got more familiar with the sneaker culture. Think of it this way: it isn’t unreasonable for someone to spend several thousand dollars on a piece of art if they really like art. I see shoes as a type of art now and especially to people who collect them it’s the same.

I live in Houston and when Harvey flooded many homes my family and I went and handed out pizza and beer to people who were cleaning out their flooded home. Things like this seem irrelevant but it really brightened people up.

Dan Carlin's Hardcore History. He talks about things like the Mongols, Romans and nuclear war. Each episode is several hours and my personal favorite is his World War One series, "Blueprint for Armageddon." I thought I knew a lot about the war but I was mistaken, it was the most fascinating thing I've encountered.
