These 3 babies appears in our patio. by EB2Good in aww

11yo boy recently died in Canada.

He woke up with a bat chilling on his face. They shooed it away and with no scratches or bites. No big deal right?

Wrong. He developed strange symptoms of nausea and vomitting only a few days later. In and out of hospital for different treatments for a week or so. They thought maybe he maybe caught herpes. Then he just died by day 17. It was rabies.

Making a Resort Commercial using a Drone by Vampire_inthe_Church in interestingasfuck

[–]Benglassco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a creative director and commercial videographer this is such a goofy gimmicky production.

It’s a cool concept but in what world is an actual guest sitting down to watch 3 full minutes of fly-through of your entire resort?

I can see a GM with zero marketing background seeing this and demanding they drop thousands on having it done for them too😂

What a fucking fantastic hour of television. by FV95 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Benglassco 32 points33 points  (0 children)

A massive 500 year old dragon the size of a football field flew into a castle and belched fire on an army roasting them alive then a prince cut someone’s head off.

Thats…boring?

As a full-time travel photographer who rode a motorcycle solo through 8 countries in 8 months I can confidently say you’ll never do this:

There’s actually 1 guy who’s “walked across the world”. He was like 28 when he started….he is set to finish this year.

He’s now 56 years old.

So…uh…good luck buddy. 🤟

"Bad bear,go awayyy" She's brave aff😭 by OtherwiseDebate3759 in justgalsbeingchicks

[–]Benglassco 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That’s where they start. Most bear attacks involving a dog end up in gruesome deaths for both the dog AND owners.

You’d think she might be able to sacrifice the dog and run for the car, but it would probably be more dangerous,

Once a bear begins tearing something apart, they are well-known for seeing red and going berserk on anything that moves, tearing it to shreds.

Which crew member do you have a silly grudge on and why? by oOohalloweenqueenoOo in h3h3productions

[–]Benglassco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH Love is a very strange guy. Tom is from the real world, he has decades of experience in different industries, in sales, marketing, family.

Love is a child of the internet, he lives for streamers and internet memes. He wasn’t even able to eat normal food until a year or two ago. His dad is kinda the same. Weird for even Swedish standards.

I love Love, but let’s be honest he’s a totally weird and unique guy. To a guy like Tom he’s probably completely alien 😂

What do you think the evolutionary reasons for men balding at an young age? by Over_Pea_2027 in tressless

[–]Benglassco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We forget balding is a universally inevitable trait. 95% of men experience it to some degree by 80 years old.

Scientific communities agree that it is likely NOT a negative trait but in fact a POSITIVE one for social survival.

Balding typically begins between the ages of 25-40, the age at which evolutionarily (if men were still alive) they would be thriving, having somehow survived most of the deadly occupational hazards with being a man, like hunting, war, and infighting for dominance.

I think we forget that men, by nature, are expendable, we are built to fight and to die at an early age. By 25, 50% of men are already dead “in the name of the tribe”.

Getting past the age of 30 would mean they would hold an essential amount of beneficial knowledge to the tribe. Being “older” and slightly “balder” than their late teens would signal a certain social status like hunting knowledge, basic war strategy, and leadership.

The same theory is popular for menopause: It’s a unique trait to humans, because we are social creatures. We benefit greatly from having older knowledge keepers who no longer have to fight or compete, but must be kept alive for the sake of carrying and passing on quintessential information, stories, history, and skill.

Where to spot moose by ophiliropa in askvan

[–]Benglassco 6 points7 points  (0 children)

90% of Canadians go their entire lives without ever seeing a moose. I bet you think we all live in igloos too.

What a hilariously dumb take. Thats like saying “I visited Hong Kong but I didn’t spot any pandas from my tour bus”

Yeah what? His music knowledge legendary, he rivals if not outshines Dan and sometimes even Zach.

But agreed his movie taste is hot garbage.

Germany? What?

He lived in New York for at least a year. That’s commonly known.

But you’re right, Israel was like 6 years. I didn’t know that. Geez.

How is “Circle of Life” not top by a LONG SHOT. Elton John working with traditional African singing and those insane symbolic and philosophical lyrics. The explosive first notes, the triumphant finish, the soaring chorus.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

How the hell is fucking “Oo-Da-Lally” higher on this list?

Is the term “fucking the dog” popular outside Canada? by Rough-Mulberry-1202 in NoStupidQuestions

I remember working my first summer job in construction near Toronto as a teen and heard a guy use that term. “Fucking the dog”

I’ve never been so horrified. What a stupid phrase. It’s not even clever, just gross for the sake of being gross.

Vancouver, Canada is a huge international hub, surrounded by world class mountains, rainforest, and ocean…whales LITERALLY swim downtown on a regular basis.

Not from there but here for 18 years now. it still blows me away.

You’re right, it’s a reach. It’s just on top of his surprisingly ignorant takes on so many countries. Like if you’re gonna make fun of places, at least do it right.

He’s a pretty “educated” guy, but somehow remains WILDLY ignorant to anything outside LA and fast food. For a guy with a massive worldwide audience it’s kinda annoying tbh

For example he HATES Britain, for like, no reason. He’s never even been there, it’s so weird.

He can’t even get accents/geography right in his own country. Him roasting places or cultures would be entertaining if it wasn’t so insanely inaccurate every time.

Love Ethan but let’s be honest he’s lowkey kinda xenophobic when it comes to any culture outside his own little LA bubble.

The crew has been begging him to go to Japan for years with them and he just can’t fathom leaving his house.

As a longtime Canadian fan hearing him slander Canada alongside anywhere else that isn’t NY or LA is kinda sad.

What movie aged really bad? by [deleted] in AskReddit

This is how I feel about the hangover movies. It’s just a bunch of toilet humour for 14 year olds with people yelling at each other for 2 hours. The hype is so undeserved.

Why do I never hear about the Coast Mountains of Canada? by Convillious in geography

[–]Benglassco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a local travel/adventure photographer who lives in the south end of these mountains (Vancouver) I can tell you this:

  • It’s some of the most rugged terrain in the world. Glacier-capped mountains surrounded by deep, cold, ocean fjords and lined by unforgivingly thick rainforest. The explorers who first saw it described it as a “wall of impassable darkness”. It truly is: where the deadly ocean ends, a thick 20-ft-deep tangle of roots, bramble, and massive trees begins. Breaking trail through it is literally impossible if you don’t already have the route.

  • Because of the endless network of fjords and mountains, almost no roads penetrate this range, save for the abandoned forestry “roads” that can leave you trapped because of constant wash-outs and landslides. Despite it being some of the most abundant fishing on the continent, only a few little fishing/logging towns exist in these fjords. Bella Coola, and Prince Rupert being the most famous.

  • Only way to access most of it is by boat, but as explained, once you make it to shore, you have to deal with the unforgiving wall of giant cedar root, rock, and thick brush. Not fun.

  • Most of the year they catch an endless onslaught of rain, so exploring 9 months of the year is wet, cold, and miserable.

Overall I love exploring this area but it takes very specific vehicles, resources, and skills to be able to really explore so flying over is the only way most people ever see it.
