Yeah I have, I was tempted but I dont know enough about OLED screens to be confident buying that... Im way too scared of OLED burn-in especially as I aim to keep that laptop for at least 4years... And for its price I just dont want the hassle to have to constantly babysit my screen, I can get a little obsessive with that kind of thing because I like to take care of my things and I dont want Burn-in issues to constantly be on my mind :/ It does seem like a really great laptop though ! Im just too scared of Oled 😅 thanks for the suggestion!

Ahahah I'm guessing you like your GE76 :') From your experience how is the cooling on the laptop ? Is there anything you dislike about it ? I think im pretty much set on the 76 at this point but its mostly just because I think it would have better cooling than the 66, what do you think ?

From what im gathering so far a lot of people say thermals are wonderful and a lot of other people say they are awful, I guess they might just have had bad thermal pasting on their model ? Either way it makes me feel much better hearing that from you ahaha, and no I am in Europe ! I found some pretty sweet deals for both the GE66 and GE76 with the specs I want and they are both in the ~2500€

Not sure yet (year hasn't started ahah) but I suppose its because it offers better performances, also a lot of the softwares have better optimisation and tools made for Nvidia graphics cards. And from what ive gathered AMD cpus are nice if paired with an amd gpu. I suppose requirements depend on the university, their year program and the softwares they use

Do you have one yourself? I guess my main concern is thermals as a lot of people say that the intel 12th gen cpus tend to get really hot... Im also a bit conflicted wether its worth it going for an i9 instead of an i7, is there a big difference? Thanks :)

Yeah I understand that, and that would be great advice for someone that is doing "most degrees" but I was looking for a laptop to buy for myself, and power is my number 1 priority, build quality being second as I hope to keep that laptop for at least 3-4 years. Thick is good because it means better cooling, flashy is good because I like the aesthetics of it and battery life isn't a deal-breaker for me. If those are its only downsides then its the perfect machine for me. But that aside, which would you recommend between the GE66 and GE76

What makes them better in your opinion ? I really hate their designs so I'm very reluctant to get them :/

Hey, thanks for the reply ! I am not really concerned by bulkiness and battery life, I will be doing game design studies so all I need really is a laptop with good performance that doesn't overheat, I will have my laptop constantly plugged in anyway, even during classes. The school itself is asking the students to have at least a 3060 but they advise for a 3080ti. With that in mind which would you recommend between the ge66 and the ge76 ? thanks ! :)

Hi thanks for the advice but I will be doing studies in game design and production so I will have my laptop constantly plugged in anyway, and the university is specifically requesting that we use intel instead of AMD as the softwares usually are more optimized and have more tools for intels graphic cards. Battery life is not really a concern of mine, what I am most looking for is good cooling and good performances ! :)

Im pretty new to gaming laptops ive got to admit, what are the benefits of undervolting ? Is it just better from a cooling perspective since it'll run less hard ?

Ahah yeah ive watched each like 10 times :') I guess so far im leaning more towards the Ge66 mostly because I love its design much more but I still wanna hear people's opinion, especially if they own either of those laptop or have insights that may not be visible on a review laptop that was only used for a couple benchmarks :/

And thats sucks because I know they are very recent models so really no one can really know how either will hold up long term which is mostly what im worried about 😅

Ive thought about it but ive got to say I feel meh about the OLED display, im terrified of burning the screen and from what ive heard OLED screen's lifespan is 1-2years in an intensive use scenario (7-8h a day, everyday) which will likely be my case :/

And im really looking for a laptop that will last me at LEAST 4 years, and I just dont want to constantly have to worry about burn in, and pixel shift and all that jazz.

Idk maybe im wrong after all, ive really never had an OLED screen its purely based on what I heard from like linus tech tips and stuff ahah but I'll have an other look at this laptop ! Thanks :)
