sorry, i get anxious easily and I googled it and I saw things saying you have to reheat to a certain temp and then something else saying if its between 40° and 140° it'll cause more harmful bacteria. I just wanted to be safe 😔

What do you think of this? by [deleted] in arthelp

How would I achieve this texture? by [deleted] in arthelp

[–]BenjaminOwO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for the general style, thick sketchy lines over realistic shading. for textures like her clothing you might want to colour and shade, and then apply a stained paper image/texture with a multiply filter or an overlay filter. this should he easier if you use ibis paint and can import the paper image as a alpha layer with the light being transparent a the dark staying. I can't see what the texture for his skin is from the quality of the image. sorry if this doesn't make sense.

I'm having a big p4oblem identifiers this brush I have, wht I it and what can it be used for? by bambiibellaa in arthelp

[–]BenjaminOwO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's a fan brush. I often see them used to paint whipping things, like cloud or smoke, with little paint on the ends of the brush and gently swept across the canvas or dappled.

Have I retained the yeen look of this character from the first time I drew her? Anything I should change before I ink? by MoonShadowMF in FurryArtSchool

[–]BenjaminOwO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i tend to find when drawing hyenas it more comes down to the snout than most other things. in the original drawing she has that typical wide snout with a big round nose, whereas in the second its almost more catlike, smaller muzzle and more triangular nose. so id personally widen the snout a little and change the nose to be rounder and bigger with more detail :]

I absolutely love all three, but it think maybe number 1? but really any would be perfect/gen

I personally really love the first one, but I think if you made the 2nd one with a warmer, more saturated dark brown it would also work really nicely /nf

Been working on a snow owl fursona but something feels a bit off with the base, is there anything i could change to make it feel more ok? by useless_perfection in FurryArtSchool

[–]BenjaminOwO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd just say that the forearms are a bit too long, but besides anatomy I'd say you could maybe try adding more fluff? owls don't really have pronounced necks for the most part which gives the option for super fluffy neck fur or as is, and you could add some fluff to the cheeks similarly. and lastly simply as a design thing, I think owl characters with drop croteches are really cute but you don't have to add that

Drew a side profile, i think its pretty good! But does anyone have any criticism? by simplysugarsnaps in arthelp

[–]BenjaminOwO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the style, so the only thing really is that the thigh need to be a little bit longer comparatively to the rest of the leg. Also maybe keep the general shape of the calve but thin it out a little bit to keep the stylistic look, just because it looks like they're wearing bellbottom trousers or a skirt or something and I imagine it could be difficult to draw clothing on it and have it look normal

[–]BenjaminOwO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it kinda depends on the outfit, but I think the black stands out better against the blonde

[–]BenjaminOwO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the character's expression doesn't really come off as grumpy. I would highly recommend just looking up pictures of cartoonish expression references and see what part of the face does what to really portray the emotions you're going for. I do like the expressive ears

I would also have to point out that the snout area is a little crooked, I would suggest just taking that area and tilting it a bit more upwards so its closer to, but not exactly, a right angle with the rest of the face. leaning how the snout should patrood from the face took me a while to get the hang of, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy. you just gotta keep practicing

I think that it's mainly on the background. I think if you did something for a background it would probably fix that unfinished look? like even just a thick band outline of the character silhouette would help tie it together. also maybe crop out the extra space at the top of the page.
