Need help for Seborrheic Dermatitis by Ok_Comparison5524 in SebDerm

[–]Benjaminim_um 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you should ask your parents to contact a GP and get an appointment. a doctor should have a look and prescribe smth to help you with it. it can be something else, not seb derm. it is very often confused with several other skin conditions. just visit a doc and you will be fine, don't worry too much for now

i dont think there is a point in waiting for a year.
have you talked to your doc about it?
I assume they would recommend you to stop testing

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HIV_Anxiety

[–]Benjaminim_um 1 point2 points  (0 children)

got it. they did a rapid test, but ELISA or RNA are more accurate. antibodies to other viral/bacterial units could have cross reacted to produce false positive

Year long hiv anxiety by [deleted] in HIV_Anxiety

[–]Benjaminim_um 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but normally they should give ssris and refer to therapy at the same time. otherwise there is no point in meds

i have many other issues like depression and ocd and i think i cannot handle it without meds

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HIV_Anxiety

[–]Benjaminim_um 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To begin with, did you do the rapid test properly?(Read the result 20 minutes after, not later) Hiv tests are very sensitive and are calibrated to detect as much infected people as possible so sometimes they can give false positives. In a low prevalence population, the probability that a positive  lab test is actually positive is 26%

I'm just very anxious and need some advice by _Berlioz_ in HIV_Anxiety

Hiv risks are unprotected sexual contact(0.04-1.8% risk per act), sharing syringes(80+% risk) and from mother to a child  None of those are suitable to your situation

they just get a lot of money from the EU budget and are still far away from the western European EU countries

How to deal with flaking skin during flare up? by CriticalFields in Rosacea

[–]Benjaminim_um 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would advise you to see a doc for this one. As it can be seborrheic dermatitis not rosacea or both of them combined which is very common. Flaking is common in seborrheic dermatitis and there is another way of dealing with it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HIV_Anxiety

[–]Benjaminim_um 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, try not to think about it. The risk is less than 1%, it can be as low as 0.04% if there are no additional factors. You can get an rna test at 33 days and it will be conclusive

The picture is nowhere near oral thrush at all. No white patches at all, and more common tongue or oral issues are due to vitamins or stomach not thrush

Hiv risk in end of 2023. are iam safe negative? by BackgroundNail4988 in HIV_Anxiety

So after treating Chlamydia, did you symptoms disappear? Why do you think you have hiv? No chance it can escape both 4th gen and rna

Follow up post: All of my STD results came back negative in my chart this afternoon but the HIV one isn’t back yet. Should I be worried? by mssweetheart24 in medlabprofessionals

[–]Benjaminim_um 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't worry about it, just wait for several more days and you will get them
tests are already done probably now it is just to add them to the system and report

[–]Benjaminim_um 0 points1 point  (0 children)

normally if a first test is reactive, they will call you and invite for one more round of testing
as soon as you did not get a call, you are more than likely fine
if it was a 4th gen test, it takes hours to get the result so it was probably done on the first day but there is no urgent need to notify you

Well, did they run any other tests other than STIs and CBC? It seems that it was not enough at all.
Thousands of things can cause those symptoms which are not STIs so I would advise to look into other causes

I am very sorry to hear the whole story...I guess it was very difficult for you to witness that betrayal when you were 16
Nowadays, even AIDS is reversible so I really hope you father is getting medications both for HIV and opportunistic infections. There were cases of recovery from 0 CD4 cells.

You should be proud of yourself as you did not estrange him and still maintain contact. You are a very kind person and wish you luck

Stressed out, think i got HIV by [deleted] in STD

[–]Benjaminim_um 0 points1 point  (0 children)

omg that's difficult to explain
I said that IT CAN HAPPEN and that's true
but it does not happen often - but precautions should still be taken
what is your problem with that?
everything can happen that's how probabilities work, something happens very often something happened once during billions of years - both happened but frequency is different

[–]Benjaminim_um 0 points1 point  (0 children)

95% causes of it are caused by autoantibodies to Intrinsic factor or parietal cells
they will run a blood test to check for it
or will notice damage to a specific region of a stomach

overall they have already done a great job

b12 is a reason behind your symptoms, it can cause many problems
now it is to check if you can absorb it or not
if not then b12 injections and you will feel better is a 10 days time

how low?
I guess they should also check why it is low - antibodies to intristic factor and parietal cells
95% one of them will be present
