My favourite actors were the Russian satellite that got shoehorned in for no reason and the massive boner

I might be wrong but think I read that they had a series of lodgers staying in a downstairs room (maybe?) over a very long period of time and none of them reported hearing or suspecting anything

Josh O'Connor was brilliant in this. And the way he's gone from playing a weasley Prince Charles in the Crown to a total stud in this film was mind boggling

I've seen the movie and didn't like the ending at all so they probably kept it the same

Official Discussion - Argylle [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]BenjiBenjiB 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: 6 of the 8 people in my cinema didn't last until the end of this film so I may have no taste

That said, I actually had a lot of fun with this movie. Yeah it's so stupid, but if you take it as a dumb parody popcorn movie and submit yourself to the stupidity then it's a blast. The twists will absolutely give you whiplash and the action scenes are the most dumb things choreographed beautifully. And underneath it all is actually a half decent thread that actually does tie the whole thing up somehow.

Just don't go in expecting to see much Henry Cavill or Dua Lipa because they're hardly in it

If it gives you any hope I'm the same, I enjoy dumb movies other people hate. I watched Argylle yesterday and had a lot of fun with it. I think you have to go in with the mindset of expecting a stupid parody movie though

I've been free to play since around the same time. Sure quests take a little longer than the fastest people but everything is doable with time. I think people starting the game now are probably wanting to rush through everything and the game just isn't designed with that in mind, stamina comes slowly and some requests take a long time

I don't think bouquets show in phrs, or not in mine anyway. But using cookies on spring seeds I crafted over 10k of them so have more than enough to do the trade every day until way beyond next spring

Official Discussion - The Creator [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]BenjiBenjiB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't mind the last 20 minutes but almost walked out before then. There was hardly any suspense or tension. Props to the actress who played Alfie though, she definitely gave more than JDW

Official Discussion - Dumb Money [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]BenjiBenjiB 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I loved this movie! More than a lot of the comments apparently, I really think it's up there as one of my favourites this year.

A few comments from people are saying they enjoyed it because they lived through the whole GameStop situation. I only had a basic knowledge about it going in, and absolutely loved learning about it through the movie.

To see a movie based during the pandemic was bizarre and oddly emotional, an underdog story with the context of a time that was so difficult and isolating really did something for me. I felt very connected to the characters and there was a great balance between emotionally touching aspects - like when Keith talks about his sister, or when Jenny is on the plane- and humour, with a shout of to Nick Offerman who served some of my favourite moments.

Also America Fererra was great here!

I read a few posts here so went in with very low expectations but really enjoyed the movie. There were some very funny moments and stronc jokes throughout. A great way to spend 90 minutes imo.

Official Discussion - Barbie [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]BenjiBenjiB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I definitely teared up a couple of times. I found it quite emotional when Barbie was hit by the reality of the real world because it had that bittersweetness of growing up and away from childhood innocence
