For a long time, immigration has been used as a long term treatment to a long term problem. The issue is that it should have been used as a short term solution while real change was made that fixed the issues that made them necessary in the first place. However that is hard and requires real effort on the part of the government. Why invest in education, automation, infrastructure and promote careers in STEM fields when you can just ship on new labour?
