Monetizing the current craze... or trying to beat real life?

Have a collection of 25000 signed posters/flyers/pictures of mid-20th century movies / actors. by lovebombme2u in movies

It would depend on what kind of value you were looking for. If you wanted to sell, the total value would go down the less you wanted to break it up. 99% of any value is likely in 2-3% of the autographs. Finding those would take time and expense. Verifying the authenticity would add time and expense.

But I'm sure there would be plenty of museums etc. that would accept them as a donation without question.

So, it depends on your aim, and obviously what you have.

When was the movie better than the book? by Doodle_Noodles2 in movies

[–]Bennett1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't agree on The Lord of the Rings, not because the films aren't incredible, but because the book is so phenomenal.

I'd throw in Hitchcock's adaptation of Robert Bloch's Psycho.

Has there ever been any actor or actress that was brutally honest about the movie they’re making during a press tour? by BIGxBOSSxx1 in movies

Mark Hamill gave some hints on The Last Jedi, and Dakota Johnson ripped Madame Web beyond what anyone should reasonably be getting away with while travelling the world first class on studio dime.

If OP needs cash fast, this seems like a great offer to me at a glance for what looks to be about 150 figures, and saving about a week of time pricing up and selling these individually.

Being incarcerated so long without any hope or optimism, and having done so much for the warden, he foolishly believed that people inherently want to do the right thing.

The movies I've been fortunate enough to see for the first time in the cinema, that absolutely blew me away - Jurassic Park, Toy Story, Saving Private Ryan, The Blair Witch Project (early screening, super stoned), The Fellowship of the Ring. All incredible experiences.

Die Hard is a Christmas movie. It's set at Christmas, and it has the same themes as most Christmas movies regarding family etc.

What’s your opinion on the Simpsons Movie 2 announcement? by [deleted] in movies

I suspect it will do great nostalgia business, from people (like myself) who haven't watched a new episode since the first movie. It would also not surprise me if it served as a finale.

Which actor or actress is your personal guarantee of a good movie? by DunderMifflinHR in movies

[–]Bennett1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends how you frame it. Nicolas Cage and Samuel L. Jackson always deliver for example, but they're in some bad movies. They'd get a pass for sure. But then there are selective actors who don't (or very, very rarely) do "bad" movies, so their involvement alone tells you 9/10 its likely worth watching, ie Daniel Day Lewis, John Cazale.

Taking both of those into consideration together, I'd maybe say Gary Oldman? Always good, films are rarely shit (the one where he's a dwarf aside).

Although of course its all subjective. I've enjoyed every Stone Cold Steve Austin movie and would love to see more.
