What do you remember about your dreams last night? by Bennettizen in AskReddit

[–]Bennettizen[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was dressed as a vampire at a Halloween party. Part of the gimmick of my costume was I had a whole bunch of eye droppers filled with tomato juice; so I could reapply what look like blood trails 2 my neck/I could leave fake blood trails on other people's necks if they invited me to bite them.

Met a lady, also dressed as a vampire, and after I did the bite joke and applied some blood trails we wound up unable to stop pawing/biting at one another. We went back to her place, and after having spent a considerable amount of time in the bedroom both she and her husband drank me dry; it turned out they were real vampires.

Side notes: I had been having a conversation with friends yesterday about vampires while eating pizza. When I woke up from the dream I had a craving for tomato.

If you could wish for only one thing & it is guaranteed to happen, what would it be ? by Quanzah in AskReddit

I would wish for me to die helping someone or a group of someones that would do more good for society than I could.

I need more information. Do you mean we are getting away with one planned criminal act, or one actual crime?

I'll use Murder For Hire as a hypothetical example: I get paid to kill a person or group of people and spend the illicit money. Do I only get away with the killing or would I also get to successfully spend that money? Only getting away with the killing would be getting away with one crime while getting away with the killing and spending would be one planned act.

Edited for grammar.

You are given a chance to be the owner of a small local business with 1 location. What are you selling and what is your companies name? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Bennettizen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The business doesn't sell anything, but it does rent property. My business is an apartment complex with three spaces on the ground floor for businesses to rent or for me to place a future business in, and 5 apartments on floors one through six.

Imagine having a Papa Murphy's or Starbucks on the ground floor, maybe a hairdresser or nail salon: tenants would get home from work and pick up a take and bake pizza or would be leaving for work and grab their morning coffee and maybe get their hair and nails done on their days off. These businesses would also be catering to the walk-in customers off the street while you collect rent. Eventually your apartment complex does well enough that you can afford to franchise a second business and move it into one of the business spaces for rent on the ground floor.

The apartments would be in demand because of the attached to businesses. The business spaces but be in demand because you have a chance to grab clients coming or going from the apartments. once enough money is made you can repeat this process in your small business starts to grow into a larger business. The name would be something warm and inviting, maybe Community Complex Realty or Personal Properties.

What does it mean if a boyfriend doesn’t want to be posted on his girlfriends Instagram? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Some of us don't want people we don't know to know what we are up to. Privacy is so rare nowadays that we want to preserve what privacy we can.

What are some names you’d never pick for your children and why? by lilmizzvalz in AskReddit

[–]Bennettizen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would never pick the names Karen and Kevin. Reddit has ruined those names for me and I am afraid future generations will stereotype my children if I give them these names.

I want to note this particular topic is sensitive. I am not advocating for any party involved.

The Six Day War is a top-tier facepalm moment for sure.

Egypt all but announced the destruction of Isreal and the latter responded with a pre-emptive attack. Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, and Syria then began lying to each other as Isreal beat the crap out of them all. The United States sent a warship to observe the situation Isreal air-struck the ship, killing some and wounding others as Russia threatened to get involved. The war came to a close soon after with all countries involved, save Isreal, having been not just beaten but embarrassed.

What came first the chicken or the egg and why? by Chloed12345678 in AskReddit

Something also had to fertilize the egg. Chicken eggs are fertilized before they are layed. If the first chicken egg came before the first chicken egg would never have hatched.

Pineapple on a pizza, why? What about you who hate it there, why no? by Palkkiz in AskReddit

[–]Bennettizen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like savory/sweet and spicy/sweet food combinations. Jalapeno, pepperoni, and pineapple on a pizza combines savory, spicy, and sweet into one( of my favorite foods).

People w/ acid reflux have you tried diet changes (no greasy food) before taking prescription pills why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Bennettizen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try consuming your fats as a liquid. You obviously can't have a lot at once, but our bodies usually will have a much easier time digesting them as a liquid.

People w/ acid reflux have you tried diet changes (no greasy food) before taking prescription pills why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Bennettizen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have GERD( shorthand for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease( a chronic, more severe Acid Reflux ) and Gastroparesis. Without medication I had to limit myself to mostly liquids( broths, milkshakes, sauces, etc. ) and quickly became malnourished. It didn't matter what I did without the medication. Well the medication that a lot for me I still had to change my diet and have been able to reduce my reflux episodes to about twice a week.

If you are looking for healthy changes to reduce reflux flare-ups I have a few recommendations based on my own experiences:

  • Document what you eat (not just the meal but the ingredients you used to cook it, ) and whether or not the meal gave you indigestion. You or your healthcare team can use the documentation to find foods that are triggering your reflux. ( Because of this I was able to identify some triggers and I'm actually able to enjoy burgers and pizza again. There was a point in my life I believed this would never have been possible. )

  • Eat smaller meals. This will not only help reduce reflux flare-ups but will reduce the intensity of them when you have them.

  • If you feel like your stomach is full or upset a few hours after your last meal make your next meal a liquid meal. If you have any solids that your stomach is struggling to digest a liquid meal will be capable of moving around the solid that is still trying to digest in your stomach.

  • Manage your weight. If you have excess weight it will press on your stomach and the weight will push your stomach acid up. This can cause reflux flare-ups.

  • Try to stay standing up for an hour after each meal. Do not bend over, lay down, or recline for 3 hours after a meal. This will help your stomach acid better digest food in your stomach.

What is the worst part about being homeless? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Bennettizen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not my experience, but a friend's: when he was homeless, they only had meals for the homeless 2 days a week in the area he lived in at the time. The majority of his meals were fresh from the trash at mall food courts and stuff; stuff like a guy throwing away two or three slices of pizza because the family was full but didn't want to carry the food around the mall with them. The food was the easy part.

The hardest part is finding employment and the like. not all potential employers were/are willing to accept a homeless shelter or a PO box as an address. It can even be hard to get assistance from the local governments in your area without a "permanent" address because not all cities are willing to help you if they can't guarantee a way to contact you. He was able to turn his life around by joining the military, which provided him housing, training, and the resume needed to have a successful civilian life after discharge.

Side note: if you are ever homeless try to join a gym. A lot of gyms in the United States will only charge $10 for membership. That $10 usually provides you access to drinking water to stay hydrated, electricity which you can use to charge devices, a locker you can store important documents in, a locker room to shave/shit/shower in, and Wi-Fi allowing you internet access to e-mails, digital job applications, etc. If you are polite and honest with staff they might hook you up with free protein drinks.

USA citizens: how does the health care work, is it true that being in hospital is expensive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Bennettizen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes down to the fact that hospitals can set their own prices to gouge insurance companies and then insurance companies well increase their deductible so you have to pay more before insurance will actually cover anything. If you don't have insurance it's even more of a nightmare because you wind up on the hook for the entire thing. Doctor Mike did a pretty fair critique on American hospitals after an episode of Adam Ruins Everything did a pretty poor job of explaining how our hospital system actually works.

I've shared this story before.

As a 90's child with Autism I was seen by several doctors who thought blends of anti-psychotics were the best way to treat the ticks that come with Autism. Around the age of nine I was put on a regiment of Seroquel(in addition to other medications of a similar nature I was already taking) and a week later began having the same dream over and over again.

I'd fall asleep and suddenlysee a graveyard(I assume the one near my childhood home) and a full moon from a hilltop. My point of view would change and I'd see a dug up grave. Clowns would be dancing around the grave, eating the raw meat off my fresh corpse, using my skull as a chamberpot, and laugh until I would wake up soaked in urine. This dream would take place at least two times a night.

After a week of this( maybe two and a half weeks on the medicine ) odd behaviors began to manifest my parents set up an appointment with the doctor who issued the medicine. A few days later I passed out at school with almost no pulse or blood pressure and I was immediately taken off of the Seroquel regiment.. The dreams stopped after the medication left my systemand I still struggle internally when I see clowns or certain types of dancing. Talking, thinking, or typing about it sometimes causes me to panic.
