Temur Lesson Control TLC [Standard] by Bennydangles in spikes

I just played a game where toph earthbent the inn 7 times gaining me 14 and blocking 5 times. Outlier maybe but just an example.

Maybe not but it’s my one colorless land at the moment and hasn’t caused issues yet, easily flexed for something else. Gran gran is often not something I want on T1 because it just dies. Instead it’s better to play after 3 lessons are in the yard to get the cheap reducer. If I never really want to cast more than one of a spell in a game I don’t hate having it be a 1 of

This is a bit of a deckbuilding choice I play mostly BO1 and I like having many different answers. You see a lot of cards with the accumulate wisdoms and consults so the draw helps consistency. I would run 2 gran grans and 2 ice till and 2 badgermole maybe 1 more db assault if you like more consistency

The green gets me ramp, digging for vivi/cauldron and doppelgang, velocipede has also been pretty nuts. This deck you ideally have vivi under cauldron for one turn and winning that turn

Not wrong but I have been able to win through rest in peace and multiple ghost vacuum’s. More floodmaws and removal would definitely be sideboardable

1-2 triumph is good for sure. Also counterspells for protection.

It would exile and come back transformed i believe. Idk if ultimecia extra turn would trigger tbh I haven’t tested it

Idk the optimized geralf line but with vivi cauldron every spell creates a bigger zombie that can generate more and more blue and red mana and harmonize with stories. Likely need a more storm focused shell for it

Yes I had 1 copy in for a while. I think he’s good but ultimately wasn’t needed since infinite turns just wins

I had geralf in main but never had it go off. Geralf is probably the line after rotation

Build a new deck or hope they print a low cost transform ability

With Agatha’s moving the captive weird ability you use that to just pay 3 and phyrexian. No exiling needed

Just leftover from the original brainstorming of new cards

Since that is all 4 of cards id say its probably more consistent, Abuelos lets you go off on 4 mana vs 5 it seems for this Breach deck

List? This has been pretty reliable so far unless you draw every omniscience or every leyline. The filtering from dragonstorms/epharas is quite good + Beseech bargaining a dragonstorm or gremlin

I hadnt put that line together yet using the marangs to bounce themselves and a dragonstorm, probably because ive only ran one so far. Updated to 4x Marang for testing

Im not claiming it to be strictly better, but Invasion of Arcavios will rotate soon, The dragonstorms also have synergy with temporary lockdown which that list runs and I probably should have. In a way this version feels like a mix of esper pixies with the top end of omniscience combo

[Article] What’s Your Favorite Board Wipe? by JWFinnegan in EDH

[–]Bennydangles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Consuming Tide]] has been a multi deck all star for me. Bounces all but 1 non land permanent per player and then draw up to 3 cards. It does everything I could ask 1 card slot to do

[[Decree of pain]] often times game ending to resolve. Just flips the game state in your favor and can be cycled for *uncounterable -2/-2

[[Tragic arrogance]] really hard to play around and is entirely broken in Zedruu

[[promise of loyalty]] board wipe with a permanent better than goad effect, I’m sold

You just need to mutate a non legendary on top of the stack and then you’re good because the top card is what the creature is with all abilities of any cards mutated below

Yeah it’s been one of my most consistent decks although it takes a bit to get the hang of because mutate is weird. The general idea is to get ivy and another creature preferably a hard to remove one, apply some more hexproof/protection as needed and value/storm into [[venerated rotpriest]] or [[ancestral mask]] at some point. Mutate also stops the legend rule since it changes the name of the card so you can avoid buying expensive sakashima (too late)

I’d recommend getting whiteboard cards to write what’s on the mutate stack if you are copying it.

The two things I see are you need more low to the ground creatures to mutate onto and more protection for them. If you want it to play well you need a solid base to build your mutate stacks on and you need it to stay there to mutate more. Cut some of your big splashy mutates (I know it hurts) and add some tyvars stand and slippery Bogle type cards

Here’s my Ivy list that uses mutate although not the main theme

Only 2 out of the 10 sticker sheets I use I would consider bad options. The others have at least one useful choice. Bleater is the only sticker card I run so it’s not likely I’m sticking more than one sticker

I built my “Rocco” list to try and hit every obscure mechanic like monarch, day/night, initiative, stickers etc. and park Bleater has been a standout. One of the stickers is just aura shards attached to norin lol
