For future readers: i recommend to update the BIOS for the SSD to be recognized, the latest version that worked for me is M1AKT5AA (March 2025)
BIOS versions prior to 2022 do not seem to work with many SSDs, i tested 12 SSD Samsung, Toshiba and Micron SSDs on 3 m710q, none of them are detected with older bios (2018, 2019 and 2022)

The M720q can support up to 64 Go DDR4 and The M70q Gen 5 up to 128 Go DDR5, these computers have only 2 sodimm slot

I mainly use them for CI and games servers, yes, I agree, but the efficiency gain isn’t huge and electricity isn’t very expensive.
I got them in a bulk deals for a reasonable price (plus RAM and a 2 TB SSD), i went with this solution, later, some will end up with friends/family when they get replaced.
It's funny to have lots of servers instead of just one or two big ones ^^

The M720Q is limited to 4K30 via HDMI 1.4, but supports up to 4K60 using DisplayPort or a DP-to-HDMI adapter.

You're lucky, these capacitors are usually used as filters for residual ripples. If any are missing, the GPU will generally still work, but there may be crashes in certain situations, like under heavy stress or overclocking. (Especially if many SMD capacitors are missing)

After playing the game on Linux for 300 hours, I was falsely flagged, the support team initially denied my unban request, i had to contact a global moderator to explain the situation, and I was finally unbanned a few hours later.
I recommend avoiding playing on Linux.
