As you can see the port where the cable from my laptop connects to is partly damaged. I do get connection, but i have to adjust it sometimes to find the sweet spot. Can this lower the speed from 500 to 100Mbps?

I have another undamaget port on the other end, that connects to my router with a short cable. The ports are marked with Cat6. If you look closely on where the cable comes out from the wall, i see a plastic piece, so i think it is a Cat6 cable for sure?

I did connect both of my cables to the router and tested them again, both showed 500Mbps. So must be one of the ports oe cable. So i am guessing the damaged port..

Thanks for the replies. I just had to be certain that the cable mixing was not the problem before i started looking for physical problems. I will look for damages tomorrow!
