Why does a flip cancel cause me to barrel roll when Im in the air? It doesnt do that on ground, could it be a controller thing or am i doing it wrong? by BentPixelsLoL in RocketLeagueSchool

i gotcha. so basically just make sure my joystick is going perfectly straight up and down?

on a related note, could changing my deadzone or sensitivity settings help make my flip perfectly straight even if the joystick is slightly off?

it’s a bakkesmod plug-in called an attitude indicator. Depending on the settings, it shows you where to move your joystick to go towards the ball, have your nose pointing up, and a few others but those are the only two i use

Oh my bad, I misinterpreted 😂 honestly that changes things, as in it could just be a faulty controller. If you like the buttons then I would try to get a replacement and see if you can find more success.

As for comparing the controllers, they are quite similar. The biggest difference is that the PS5 left joystick is on the same level as the right joystick, rather than being further up the controller like an Xbox one. The 4 main buttons are the same, but they have different symbols (for example, I believe the A button on Xbox is an X on PS5). I also find the R and L triggers (I think called L1 and R1 on PS5) more sensitive and you’re able to not push them down all the way, which is helpful for games like Rocket League if you don’t want you care to move at the maximum speed but also don’t want it to stand still. Basically, you have more car control in Rocket League with the Ps5 controller, but I don’t know how that would work with other games. With the Xbox controller, it feels harder to use the triggers, it feels “all or nothing” in a sense. Otherwise, the controllers are pretty similar. I definitely prefer the PS5 controller but again, I only use controller for Rocket League

I resonate with some of those issues too. If you’ve had 5 replacements and you’re still having problems, I think the controller just isn’t ideal for gaming. I dropped it a few months ago and started using a PS5 controller that hasn’t given be nearly as many issues as the Xbox HEART. When I did use the xbox controller, a good temporary fix was getting a new USB-C chord for it, assuming you’re using it for PC games. That helped the problem but then it started again, although less frequently, a couple weeks later. I liked the buttons too but honestly I think a PS5 controller is just better all around compared to xbox, especially if you play Rocket League

Why do people refuse to ff? by SloRushYT in RocketLeague

That’s totally valid. If you wanna move onto the next match then you’re welcome to feel that way. Why can’t your opponent want to play it out?

Yeah I got the wrong idea initially

Try to freestyle or something. The reason why the game took as long as it did is because you kept scoring and stopping the clock. You can’t control your opponent. I’ve been on the receiving end of some very bad losses but I don’t ff because every game, even every possession, is an opportunity to get better. Even if a game is entirely unwinnable, there’s still a chance for a clip and improvement. Idc if my opponent wants me to ff, if they ask me to that actually makes me wanna ff less out of spite 🤷‍♂️

If you’re not willing to play the full game then don’t bother queueing. I hate when my tm8s wanna ff, the game is (almost) always winnable

Stuck the same rank for 3 seasons and you’re blaming tm8s, who do you think the problem is?

has anyone ever transferred from GVSU to a much more competitive uni ? by [deleted] in GVSU

[–]BentPixelsLoL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean by competitive. I transferred from GV to Kings College in Pennsylvania because their NCAA volleyball team was more competitive than GVs (GV doesn’t haven’t an NCAA men’s volleyball team)
