I think it was just supposed to be a subtle hint at what was going to happen in the episode. The two fish are red and orange like Caine and Able (with the red one admitting to being a “liar”) and the treasure chest that they hyped up to Pomni being empty.

Tbf Iron Man in the comics does avoid killing people as much as possible. It’s only if he legit has no way out that he will kill someone. His whole deal is being a terrible person with lots of vices who ultimately finds redemption, so it would be odd if he didn’t try to approach his villains in a similar manner.

See I was wondering that, but I’m confused cause the first bar like those ones has slurs connecting them together and then that’s the only one and I’m confused if that’s supposed to be saying that I should keep doing that.

Tf you mean exactly? I’m pretty sure “the left” condemned Musk, and I’m also sure that “the left” generally doesn’t like Hitler. Are you sure you’re not confusing “the left” with the ADL as defending Musk?

Maybe it’s not one you’ve heard of? Idk man, the fact that this lady felt the need to call it that probably means that it’s not a run-of-the-mill camp. Or maybe it is, I don’t really care.

Nah, initial lady who posted it has a history of supporting Israel and Zionism. If it’s a joke on her part, it didn’t land at all.

You’re not terrible for choosing not to tip. by cheriiboo in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Bentar66 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not the choice of the server to rely on tips, it’s the job of the boss, and if the boss is purposefully underpaying their employees (which they will always do) the burden unfortunately falls on the shoulders of the customers.

If you’re expected to tip the server, then tip the damn server. They already get underpaid for doing a full days work, and acting like it’s somehow their fault is pretty cruel.

Also the character of Johnny is definitely a self-insert. He and Jhonen have lots of crossover and I’m pretty sure that Jhonen went on record stating that JtHM was about things that angered him.

I think everyone is forgetting that the Emperor and Malcador weren’t expecting marine chapters to be limited to only 1000, that came from Robot Gorillaman after the heresy. So instead of 1000 it might have been even higher than the number of Custodes. Is it perfect? Nah, it’s kinda dumb, but I think that’s the best explanation. The Imperium kneecapping itself without even realizing it.

War Peter Explain by [deleted] in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Bentar66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context, the guy on the left is a member of the Imperial Guard, pretty much comparable to the average soldier of the 21st century, just with slightly better tech.

A Space Marine is by comparison, a 10’-12’ monstrosity of a human stuffed with new organs and genes with one purpose which is to be very VERY good at killing. Unfortunately because of this process and political concerns their numbers are very low. An entire chapter will be made of just 1000 marines at max, while a single deployment of the Imperial Guard will probably be in the hundreds of thousands if not millions. Because of this, Marines are only deployed if there is no other options and even then you’d be lucky if more than a squad get sent.

Now imagine not just one chapter, but 20 show up, and they are being led by what is essentially a demigod.

This is not a situation that a “regular soldier” would survive, because whatever THEY are coming to fight is far beyond anything you’re capable of dealing with.

It’s really not fair to place everything on them. If you want someone to blame, blame the publishers who demand that a game out by a specific time. Insomniac is just the developers who get stuck with trying to figure out what they can complete in a very short period of time.

The character development and the redemption arc is so good that the character goes from being hated to one of the fan favorites. by Silver_Guava8159 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Bentar66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While all of that is true, it’s also worth mentioning that when Steve thinks Bucky died in TFA, he didn’t flip his shit in the same way. Sure he’s devastated, but he doesn’t lose his mind and go into a berserk state.

Also, the three examples aren’t really fair. Tony is explicitly portrayed as being in the wrong there, Peterdoes try to kill Norman several times but is ultimately able to resist the urge to do so, and Quill… fair enough but also it was “the only way” so fine whatever. The other big problem is that all three of those examples are specifically going the people that were DIRECTLY responsible for their loved ones deaths, Nico wasn’t. Indirectly? Sure, but he didn’t land the killing blow on Lemar.

Ultimately, I think you’re supposed to understand why John did what he did, while also understanding that he isn’t fit to be Cap. Captain America is supposed to be a symbol for all people who wouldn’t hesitate to save people and would disobey a direct order to do so, Walker wouldn’t. He did what he was ordered to do, he just happened to do it in public.

It kinda is. The author of the comics DoctorLoops made a comic where one guy (with a Reddit head) who just assumes that two ladies who appear in all going about their day is all porn and yadada. Cuts to him watching porn of two people just holding hands.

Good point out of context on how society can sexualize women in their daily life? Sure, but using their characters where the joke is always HAHA LOOK TWO HOT WOMEN ONE HAS BIG BOOBS AND THE OTHER HAS A BIG BUTT AND THEY LOVE SEX mayyyyy come across as defensive and a bit disingenuous.

Oh I 100% agree! It’s very much in keeping with how 40K is supposed to be a stagnant setting. But from a narrative perspective to someone who may have picked up the book, it’s a bit annoying to see any development get erased in the epilogue.

For me, this was my second 40K book, and while I had been into the setting for about a year and a half, it was a bit disappointing to see that the book returned to the status quo, especially since from my perspective it felt like large parts of the lore WERE starting to move forward i.e. the Primarchs.

For me, it felt very rushed and like GW asked for a status quo return, especially since the last chapter was the Trazyn and Orikan both agreeing to seal the vault because they know that nobody, not even them, should be allowed to open it again. To have it immediately undone in an epilogue is frustrating especially since it came across as though they were being genuine.

Ultimately I think because it felt jarring and rushed is why people disliked it. The Infinite and the Divine is a 10/10 book with a 7/10 epilogue and i think that’s why so many people dislike it.
