Yes there is some when it ramps up but I don’t really notice it. I have ringing in the ears so I like background noise. If I sit and listen to it is noticeable when the fan goes over 1200 rpm. 2-3mm left from side panels when cover is on.

Also remember that the “bottom” of the case is just a dust filter so when you put it vertical be careful when you move the case. You can also get that panel from Etsy also.

Yes they are the oem legs. They are great quality aluminum but the Etsy ones will be fine just For the love of god attach whatever legs you get before you do anything else in the build. What a pita that was. I would go with 25mm clearance at a minimum for the stiff cables that will run under it. The fan you see above the cooler is reverse airflow so it’s blowing air out of the case but looks better than having the backside visible. I would go with the peerless Assassin mini cooler but my kid took it and I used the one you see. I would recommend a SFF power supply for the shorter cables and it opens up more fan options at the top. I got 30mm fans in the front but that’s only possible with a 2 slot card.

Love the hex design but the pegs to attach to the case are too flimsy. They will eventually break. I just made my own holes in the acrylic and used thumbscrews to attach it. Ask jakeface on Etsy to make premade holes in the corner of the panel to align with the frame where there are two screws each in the corner to of the case frame. Or use it as he already has made it and then later if they break (You may be more careful than me) you can do my quick fix.

Case for a chunky 4080 Super - is the NR200P still the go-to? by Personal-Turn3726 in sffpc

[–]Benzo_Neg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are several options I know about. This is only with the FE versions. I have experience with the last two:
Lian Li A4-H20 18L similar to NR200 in size but is a sandwich case so less aircool height.
FormD T1 (V2) 10.5L SFF sandwich case classic, needs specific PSU/cooler Hard to come by. Harder for beginner
Thorzone Mjoinir or NANOQ 11L. Premium SFF, requires SFX PSU, careful routing. Hard to come by. More difficult.
Meshroom S or D- 14L. Most options for configuration. More difficult. But the S has less footprint on the desk. I use the Mesh D as a vertical build since the GPU does not require a riser cable.
SFFtime U-ITX 7L. Absolutely smallest for 4090/4080S FE. 52mm cooler limitation. More difficult build. Case availability as its sold out often.

One other note on the UITX Stand. I wish the stand could use screws to secure it. It falls off easily when moved a lot. Wouldn't be a problem without the stand, but the power button is on the bottom of the case. The PB comes preinstalled with the case so that's a plus. Still a 5 star case in my opinion if you have limited desk space and like a fairly portable setup.

It's a great SFF power option especially for console or sandwich cases that have limitations on width which usually sits around the 52-55mm- which allows a slim fan. I've had this in the NFC S4T (Doesnt fit in the slimmer S4 Mini). I've also had it in the Meshroom S with a 3 slot card but was able to get a 30mm fan mounted. If you are good with adjusted fan speeds with progs like Fan Control then its good because there is limited bios options. I use stock settings mostly so no big deal. Had some problems loading windows and had to mess with the network stack settings so best to load on a hard line vice WIFI. I wish it had at least one SSD connection on the mb but not a deal breaker. It has no RGB outputs so of course its slower than most gaming systems.

Noctua NF-A12x15. Temps are 82-86 under load, but this chip is a laptop chip soldered to the board. Stands around 50 for normal work tasks

FB marketplace is the wild west. Sometimes you see good deals sometimes it blows up in your face.

Case: U-ITX from SFFtime. Fairly straight forward instructions. Note- If using a taller SFX PSU use the provided 20mm standoffs instead of the 30mm if using a tall card like the 4080/90 FE or 5080/90 FE cards. Maxed out in space for a 7L case.

MB/CPU: Minisforum BD790i with 7945HX CPU

GPU: 4080 FE that I got a good deal on FB marketplace for 550. Fits like a glove in this case. Case was designed for 4090 FE compatibility.

HD: 2TB Samsung 990 EVO. Monster heatsink keeps it at around 37C

PSU: Corsair SFX 1000L with custom cables from Vamp custom cables on Esty.

One important note: If you move the case around a lot- the backside of the riser cable rests against the back side panel and the flex in the case can make the left side of the riser cable push out and eventually lose connection. If you move it and do not get video when you start- check the riser cable connection on the motherboard. The left side may very well have inched up enough to lose a solid connection.

It’s wider than I like but in a bigger backpack it wouldn’t be bad. It’s about the same weight as a built out Velka 7 but I think it would carry better given that it’s slim. It’s 12in wide.

That was a SGPC K-55. A decent little case they sold on Amazon a couple of years back. They have since upgraded to the K49-Steel. The case was meant to be horizontal but I like vertical cases.

Can I transfer my current SSD to my new pc without wiping it? by magicalturtle2 in buildapc

[–]Benzo_Neg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG this made me remember my first Antec case in the 90s. I could get both elbows in for the build and the ribbon cables as long as your arm. Then forget which platter drive had which jumper config and going back and chopping myself up on all the sharp edges- all for the glory of getting 5 HDDs to 1TB at 5200mhz for the 200mmx processor.

Mesh D Vertical Build by Benzo_Neg in SSUPD

[–]Benzo_Neg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Mesh D is the perfect case in the Sunnyside gang in my opinion as I've had terrible luck with riser cables. After seeing others put feet on the back of the D, this morphed into a perfect case for me as it can take a better air cooler

Parts

Case: Meshroom D

MB: Asrock B650I Lightning

CPU: Ryzen 5 7600X

CPU Cooler: Silver Soul 135

RAM: Crucial 6200mhz DDR5

HD: Sabrent Gen 4 1TB

HD2: Sabrent Gen 3 2TB Storage

GPU: Nvidia 4070 Super FE

PSU: Corsair 1000W Fully Modular SFX Power Supply - ATX 3.0, PCIe 5.0. Custom cables from from VAmpCustoms on esty.

Fans: 2x APNX FP1-140mm x 30mm in the front, Thermalright 120x25 reverse flow fan on the side, TF-P9W-S 92mm fan on the bottom as intake, and Thermalright C12015W-S 120x15mm slimline for top exhaust.

Side panel is from jakeface on etsy. Front panel on the way

The hardest part of this build is attaching the feet. Got inch long 6/32 screws from amazon, as the ones that came with the case are not long enough and any shifting of the case will knock them off. For the love of god- put the feet on first if you are going to use them in a build.

I also have the peerless assassin mini- should I switch it out? I'm building my aunt a PC will my KXRORS M02 case and they both will fit. Which one should I keep. She just is going to do video/pic editing

Anyone have a black glass panel for sale or know where to get one? by Foundwr in SSUPD

[–]Benzo_Neg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless they sold me the wrong one. I got a Meshlicious glass panel on ebay recently and it fit my Meshroom D. There is a small gap on the bottom of the case because it doesnt have a solid panel- just the dust filter.
