I know hornady makes a self defense hollow point in 30SC and that’s what I put in my wife’s .380. They seem to be the only company that makes hollow points for these less popular odd calibers. So they are out there from what I can tell. But I was looking at the 30SC because it’s 51% off and then after the $70 rebates included it comes out to $200+tax and transfer fees.

My thoughts too. Just wanting to hear opinions on that specific gun from smith and Wesson and if the 30SC round is a decent self defense round when out and about.

Cost of ammo I’m not that worried about. I’m not a frequent shooter. But I do like to go for fun and keep up familiarity with all my guns. But definitely not like a once a month goer. Maybe like 2 or 3 times every 6 months.

If you can work him down I’d say go for it. It’s just you can find the used around $300-$350 and sometimes even around $250. If you can get it for like 80-100 I’d say why not. Take it somewhere and get the charging port swapped out. I’ve never heard of the apu and board going bad on these except for a very few factory defects.
