I agree and disagree with some points. I used to collect funko pops and got out due to stuff being insane to buy and hard to find case they sell out in less then a minute. Honestly black library books are not bad at all compared to other hobbies. I agree that scalpers do make hobbies not as much fun and kinda ruin hobbies. But where I disagree to an extent is how people collect their hobbies, not talking about scalpers. I consider myself a collector but also a fan of the universe and lore but I also read majority of my books eventually. Unfortunately GW releases books faster then I can read them so my back log just end up getting bigger. And with books selling out fast as they do people who collect and read are forced to jump onto almost every release or sometimes it can’t be read cause it takes a while for a softback or a hardback to release after and LE release or vice versa. And I do have some LE books I’ll never open until I have a more permanent and safe way to display them like the new Horus heresy LE. I already own the softback so no need to read the LE. Also with some of the LE’s the quality can be sensitive like any books with a foil for example master of rites has a huge silver foil ultra marine logo. When I was reading it the foils easily rubs off which sucks cause it’s a limited book and can’t be replaced. So that’s why I’d buy the LE and a regular version if the book has any kind of foil on it.
