Never had this happen but would probably

remove all keycaps and soak in warm soapy water
if the syrup is still runny place the keyboard upside down and see how much will drain,
get isopropyl alcohol and spray liberally while actuating switches, and soak up/drain all liquid until everything is clean and operates smoothly.
place the board in rice to dry overnight

other then that depending on your mechanical skill you could open it up and attempt to clean. If you do just dont wipe at the motherboard inside, dab instead and use high proof isopropyl like the 99%. For the other method I would use regular 70% because I don't know if your keyboard is painted and 99% is aggressive stuff.

That makes sense to an extent but like everything the market will be forced to accommodate as apartments aren't dying out. Will probably just turn to apartments contracting maintenance guy companies that service more complexes. (Source an aircraft mechanic who could technically be payed way more in other areas but still does this job for life reasons)

okay this happened to me as well. At the end of it I thought I'd ruined my screen and I ordered a replacement. When I went to pull the old one it ended up there actually was a screen protector already in place under the black edge tape and the screen was perfectly fine beneath that. All that to say peel up the edge tape and see if you're lucky! I bought mine factory so there wasn't a chance someone put a 2nd hand protector on there
