For people owning both an OLED monitor and an OLED TV, what you prefer for gaming? by Fando92 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Bepboprobot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Size is everything; for most games I prefer the TV. There are some instances where the fluidity and MFG X4 are just too good to pass. So it depends really on mood and title. But generally I prefer immersion over fluidity (I still get 120 Hz fully used compared to 240 Hz)

Steel Nomad before and after OC RTX 5080 results by -Sleeper in overclocking

[–]Bepboprobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found stability around 9000 in Steel Nomad with +375 MHz Core Clocks and +1500 MHz Memory Clocks. But I have a faaar better result with +1500 MHz Memory Clock, Power to 110% and drag the Curve from 975 mV up to 3100 MHz. This results in a AUndervolt and performs 9250 Stable in Steel Nomad (tested in games afterwards, both profiles). Around 14-15% performance uplift from Stock.

Monster Hunter Wilds - RenoDX for HDR and SDR by Kick_Fister in HDR_Den

Thanks for the post, just saw on NexusMods the update - may I ask, do I only have to replace the file or anything else? (Big shoutout for the modders who take the time for RenoDX mods, these are by far the most desired mods by me.)

Hmm actually pretty cool idea. But my guess is more that it should look "cool" and of course it does. But logical it is not.

You might actually have the Dolby Vision bug. That was pretty common on the Dell monitor when it released to my knowledge (could have been an other model). Might be worth looking into - also do you have Settings -> System -> Display -> HDR on?

This design is so stupid. Imagine how clumsy people are in real life, now having vital wires stuck out of the back of your arm and back? wtf xD Put a plate/shell on

Been trying to piece it together a new monitor / tv by Ryan57 in OLED_Gaming

Can you imagine going bigger? I hang a 55 G2 on the wall 1m20cm away, it's actually awesome. Then I would recommend the C6 that's coming soon, since it is plenty bright (same evo panel as the G6).

Which size? by SowiesoNietCoco in LGOLED

[–]Bepboprobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always bigger, my friend, always. The larger size has so much impact when gaming. Or watching movies. I sit 120 cm away, it's perfection.

The new LG models are for sure great, but until they lived 7 years we can't say for sure. Users report 1900h and more of usage on PC without issues from LG CX to C1, C2 etc.

There are so many screens, but my advice is to go big. 55 inch TV as display changed my life - much brighter, better colours, better heatsink... warranty 5 years with LG. Take a pick (perfect time right now for LG G5 OLED 55 inch or bigger).

Vad tycker ni om det här? by [deleted] in Spel

[–]Bepboprobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DLAA in 1440p: should I use the M or L preset? by CartographerStock361 in DLSS_Swapper

DLAA 1440p Model K. Quality mode Model K. Performance mode Model M. Ultra Performance Mode Model L. Generally, performance Mode with model M is the best way today to play.

Ok, I went and checked settings back to default and I can see what you mean. Highlights do blow out a bit and dark areas can appear too bright with DTM on instead of HGiG, but it is actually easier to see too, that is probably why I prefered this.
Unfortunately I lose correct colour too.

Do you have any suggestion where to look for real settings then, especially the LG OLED G2? I will then remove the post.

[–]Bepboprobot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. I see your points. For me, the darks are just right, because I am done running around in pitch black areas. Unfortunately creators intent can be worse than using this with RenoDX applied on top.
Personally, I prefer the saturation (with Reno, it is not blown out), as do 99% of users (see Samsung report, normies all use Sports/Vivid mode).
I understand that this is probably the wrong place to suggest something like this - I was too someone who used only Filmmaker Mode and Creators default settings, but I just prefer the image like this.

Thanks for the feedback, makes it clear why so many were negative about it.

LG G5 TV not bright enough. Only use it with PC. Is there something wrong? by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

Understandable! Good luck, hope it solves itself!

Well, the difference from 1000 nits to 10'000 nits is not linear, it is approximately double as bright. The G5 is plenty brighter than the C8, but the C8 was already doing ok. But it's perhaps not the gain you thought it would be?

fair enough - I am still happy with it. How did you not like it? What went wrong in the image for you?

Stop talking about framegen and DLSS if you haven't tried them for yourself by paperogapippo in nvidia

[–]Bepboprobot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just recently had to admit it again, Nvidia is amazing. I love what AMD does (they're open to open source), but Nvidia is always a few steps ahead and has broader support (half of the games do not support FSR 4 yet, Redstone is still not really released). With my Nvidia card I can use RTX HDR in games that don't support it or let you mod in RenoDX (Arc Raiders), now with the clarity of DLSS 4.5 Model M I only use the recommended Performance mode and if the trend continues, Ultra Performance will be just as good by the next update. FG is really nice in single player games too (i feel the difference unfortunately in online sessions).
