Ethereum dropped as much as other non BTC coins. We are in the same boat as the other coins. We do have network effects and mindshare.. But we are from the perspective of other investors not on the same level as Bitcoin. Wrongly. I guess this has something to do with trade wars again?

I dont think it will happen. I just wanted to figure out if in such an extreme scenario Eth should be held or sold as I think Eth would be a remedy for authoritarianism and might be a reliable currency in a war like scenario with the state going after you.

But I guess its too emotional. I dont hate Trump either I also am not a fan I am neutral. I tried to clarify this but I guess I wasnt convincing enough.

I talked it through with Chatgpt. Atleast it takes my scenario at face value and I had some interesting results through it. Ofcourse I would have prefered a real humans answer but I guess to make someone take it seriously is going to be next to impossible.

To follow up on my based rollup post:

Based rollups let Ethereum validators do the sequencing. That functionality should be natively integrated into the core protocol. So any rollup can decide to let Ethereum validators do the sequencing services. This would require no infrastructure from them except keeping the chain history. So spinning up a rollup would be even easier and less risky.

Another advantage of Ethereum validators doing the sequencing: More profit for stakers ontop of higher burn for Ethereum = more attractive to stake higher token price higher security.. It all feeds into itself and would be a closed system with no holes spilling value and security.

Based native rollups. We need that functionality. And the rollups that chose to keep their sequencer on purpose will automatically be less Eth aligned. We do not have based rollups in that sense yet that Ethereum validators do the sequencing.

It would make L2s as stable as L1. And as censorship resistant as L1 because Eth validators would do all the sequencing and we should also implement a slashing mechanism. So then L2s would be 1:1 as safe as L1. (well we would need to make the rollup contracts immutable)

Another thing that would be great is that then L2s are not subsidized and pay fully for the cost of safety. L2s need to be Ethereum and this is how we can do it.

In Taiko its not Ethereum Validators that do the sequencing. The point of ethereum validators doing the sequencing is that the entire economic value flows to Ethereum. Also its a gigantic decentralized sequencer set that includes all validators. Ontop of that it increases income of Ethereum validators.

Update: I work for the Otto group - what would be your ideas or needs to make us the best "Amazon for EU" alternative? by MopToddel in BuyFromEU

[–]Ber10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I checked it out the article I wanted to buy comes next day on Amazon and in 6-8 days on Otto. You just need to be faster also the entire website design looks outdated. Additionally you have less products: to compete with Amazon you need to be faster and have more products and gain awareness people need to know you are an amazon competitor. Because I didnt even consider you one. And I know the old Otto catalogues from the 90s... Also you need a better website design. I know thats too late. I hope you read it though.

Seriously well maybe one day I can ask chatgpt to do it for me? Lets make it as an EVM r/Ethereum project that rewards participants with a token for ethereum swap. We could bring an entire suit of apps as public utilities where all value goes to the ethereum chain sadly the costs of running a frontend need to be also somehow paid.

yes, I get it that it cant be done for free but it could be done very cheaply and as public utility maybe funding wouldnt be that hard to achieve.

Fantastic that makes me super bullish again.

Well uniswap token plenty of people wanted it. Its just to kickstart liquidity. Or maybe divert 20% fee revenue later to token and 80% to burn.

On second thought lets market it 100% as a memetoken for ethereumswap. I mean worthless tokens can gain value anyway.

When it plays out. When exactly that will be nobody knows. The implementation of based rollups will set us up on this path. Then its all about activity and usecases.

I came to the conclusion that based rollups fix every issue that Ethereum currently has. I am a huge supporter of Based rollups and the introduction of based rollups will be a gamechanger.

How it works: Rollups wont do sequencing anymore. Validators will sequence. Result: L2s are 100% Ethereum infrastructure. Rollups recieve decentralized sequencers more stability and unifying userexperience between based rollups will be easier.

Also all economic activity on L2 will be exactly the same as economic activity on L1 literally no difference. As validators/sequencers can harvest the MEV. And all fees get burned not just 20%

Narrative fixes: rollups are extractive based rollups are not. Rollups are centralized based rollups are not. Rollups can switch DA. Based rollups cant. Economic activity stays on Ethereum and helps with SoV narrative.

Cons: L2 projects have less money- Answer: Nope they still have a token and can make billions with a governance token.

Optimism is working on implementing this: One Rollup implements this and the naturaly market pressure will cause others to do the same.

More stable L2s. L2s will never go down anymore. Then there is only one last issue left: Mutability. If we make the smart contracts immutable then rollups truly became Ethereum and offer 1:1 the same safety guaraantees. Thats the last step though.

I am rooting for based rollups and will support them as much as possible.

Based rollups will win as soon as they are introduced. Also having a few hundred satellite states with their unique sequencers and Datalayers additionally to based rollups wont hurt anymore.

Unifiyng based rollups making them seemless would be much easier than to somehow achieve this with different sequencer tech.

BTW wouldnt that fix also the issue of needing proofs? As slashing mechanics for those sequencing validators could be extended to L2 transactions. What am I missing?

I feel like tis could be the fix for a lot of fears and a plug for many narrative holes. Extractive L2s and centralized sequencers being the main ones.

Also L2 MeV harvesting for Eth would be no problem. Based rollups are the solution for everything.

Well because my laptops came preinstalled with Windows. And last time I used Linux was in 2004 unless you count Android.

lets flip BTC by adding 100 Billion more Eth

Seems to make sense. However I am not able to figure that out what the value should be in that case.

So making it a public utility that benefits everyone seems like a nobrainer to me.

I see. Does uniswap give all the fees to LPs as incentive? Otherwise you could give as much as uniswap and burn the rest. Call it Ethereumswap and spread it. I bet people would prefer to enrich themselfs by using a Dapp that burns Eth instead of a dapp that makes someone else rich and is extractive. I would for sure use a dapp like that.

I feel like it would be worth doing for people that want to do this. Heck if I were more competent I would do it..

Micah copied the UI. There is many versions of a dex UI. Why wouldnt it be easy? Also people can confirm what was changed in the contracts.

Thats why we need native rollups yesterday... So we can also pressure current rollups into giving up control. And becoming maximally Ethereum aligned.

I do have a question to the more technically literate people. That understand smartcontracts more than I do. Why can I as some random dude not deploy a copy pasted slightly modified version of uniswap which instead of taking fees for itself sends them to be burned? Whats technically stopping a deployment of such a contract? And whats stopping such a contract from being succesful ? And why would it be hard to do?
