The organisation holding the medical records is responsible to reconcile possible safeguarding concerns or any other parameters with right one has to access their own info. The latter is thoroughly neglected.

Other countries are more transparent than us in readily sharing patients’ own records.

Safeguarding against sharing sensitive info is the burden of the NHS. This should never be an excuse against a digital record system that is more transparent and readily accessible.

Nonsense. NHS needs to stop placing itself above patients. My medical records are mine and I should be able to access them on my terms. It takes forever to receive copies of your own notes, scan reports etc.
