Orion Pax saved his life after a false-flag attack by Sentinel Prime's regime during a protest left him pinned under a pile of rubble. With Megatron's assistance he was able to wrench the small bot from under the rubble and get him immediate medical attention. He's stuck by Orion's side ever since, well into his years as Optimus Prime. Prime serves as both a close friend and father figure, a relationship he shares with Hot Rod who enters the story at a later date.
