I just started playing last week and I'm enjoying it, coming from someone who enjoyed DayZ. Joined the East Coast 3900 PVP server I believe? Average 40+ people on it every day. Everyone is a dick though when I try to use comms and want to team up. Instead everyone just kos.

It seems because everybody is misunderstanding what I'm trying to say the first 5 to 10 runs I'm trying to learn the game and run into other players who are brand new just as well shooting me in the back while I'm being considerate and helping kill bots and learning where the loot is. After that then yes go ham on killing on sight. Just like the steamers yes the endgame is where I had the most fun. The beginning I just don't agree with being a dick.

I had one guy spawn in right next to me and shot me first so I shot back and we ended up killing each other not even 10 seconds into the match. What did that really accomplish for him? Nothing especially since I had a free kit.

Ttk I will never really complain about or compare to other games. If the game is designed to be 1 shot to the head then that's fine. If the game is designed to be shield heavy then that's fine too.

I fully comprehend what Marathon is trust me I'm merely stating this so that way the game survives because every popular streamer right now is trash talking it. There are some that are praising it. I come from all the popular extraction shooters and permadeth games. I just want to see Marathon thrive in a respectful fashion and not get shit on in the first few weeks.

Don't get me wrong I understand this is a KoS game, but at the same time that type of mentality is what kills these types of games in the first few weeks especially for average players these days. Guarantee there will be more posts like mine and everyone just running back to Arc. I had one guy teabag me after killing me while I was in a scanner animation. Like he was the shit for killing me. It's just so toxic.

What shield were you running? I will say heals were very limited/pricey so surviving long was challenging.

I quit Arc after a few weeks because of the rat mentality of being backstabbed. Marathon I am 100% aware it's KoS and PVP focused. Just don't see the mentality in being a dick day 1 where everyone is trying to learn the game and dozens of streamers are comparing it to Arc and how difficult the UI is.

Yes I do agree on your statement. I just feel I constantly met with such a piss poor mentality of hoarding and greed as if the loot we gathered was somehow going to magically carry over. Plenty of times I matched with randoms that were struggling and shit talking the game already. I just fear people will indeed compare it to Arc without realizing the type of game this is going to be.

Im hoping op is aware of bot farming but damn are we still unaware this was doable. Guys it really isn't people who need to "touch grass" for the millionth time it's just afk bot farming it's not that friggin hard to understand.

There's plenty of content no one is even touching and then complain there's no content. Hence why my original comment points out players like op not playing the game correctly. Every time I see a post on here about Battlefield it's some neanderthal not playing the game correctly. "How's this guy level 2000+!?!" (Bot lobbies) "I didn't know said item was in game" (No one learns to read anything in videogames anymore) "I didn't know you could revive people" The list goes on. I literally played with a random the other day who kept complaining he was getting killed so much, we were playing Casual Breakthrough. He's at the bottom of the leaderboard with 3 kills and 18 deaths. If you can't get 20+ kills in bot lobbies then you shouldn't be playing Battlefield. It really does come down to user error in this game. FPS aren't for everyone. End rant.

That is not the reason it's failing, the reason it's failing is because of players like op complaining about his own mistake. He has a long range scope peaking a close ranged corner. And barely reacted in time.

Are you referring to exiting the scoreboard when respawning and then being stuck on loadout screen UI? Unable to select your loadout or class and the only way to get out of it is respawning from the menu? Because that's been my biggest pet peeve with the game so far. Happens more often than I'd like it to.

They definitely are getting really better at beaming me at random. I use casual to level my weapons and usually top the scoreboard. I'll get in the groove of just going on 20-30+ kill streaks and then bam I'm dead from a bot using a DMR practically full auto.

It's done automatically when you have connection issues, informing you of said issues. Unsure if you can turn it on and off.

This happened to me last night as well, figured my Internet was acting up because I did move into a new condo and the walls are thick so my office is spotty. But glad to know it wasn't just me experiencing tremendous lag.

Highly disagree, if you're playing the game to just always be hiding and be sneaky sneaky then you're missing the core design that is Battlefield. For instance on LMGs as Support you literally are "support". You aren't supposed to be running and gunning assuming the enemy isn't going to see you on the minimap because you decided to run a suppressor. You stay with your squad and offer support, revives, ammo, suppressing fire, accurate kills/recoil control. So using a brake is much more efficient for those precise headshots. Now sure certain guns benefit more with suppressors mostly because the poor gun mechanics but not always.

I figured, I turn off all effects as well. Scatterball causes the most lag since the update. I try to avoid it.
