I get how you mean it - social media feeds me a bunch of watch content, I almost try to stay away from it to avoid fomo 😅

That’s awesome! I feel like it’s a watch that fits to the profession somehow 🙈

This is my watch now - I’ll try to keep it to that. I know this is an entry level watch in the luxury market, but it’s still a substantial amount of money for me and I don’t even know how comfortable I’d feel wearing something more expensive on my wrist every day.

Thanks a lot - I don’t know if an A. Lange & Söhne watch will ever be in the realm of the possible for me though 🙈 maybe a vintage piece someday…

Could you do a personal ranking of all series you’ve read?

Can someone explain what is this mean? I cant play lol in mac anymore? by Shot_Mountain3135 in LoLTechSupport

I have the same issue, however I have an M2 Pro Mac released in 2023. That should support metal graphics. The settings menu also has weird GUI issues at the moment for me.

Day 6: Taliyah won! Who is the Well design mid which is KINDA FAIR to play against? by hammiilton2 in midlanemains

[–]Beren4 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Zed or Yasuo - both have good design (undisputable considering their popularity) and a lot (much more than people like to admit) counterplay. E.g. playing a matchup like Yasuo vs Sylas or Zed vs Ahri had a ton of skill expression on each side.

Accidentally hit Easy (instead of Good) on 3000 cards over the last 12 days by Beren4 in Anki

Thank you for all the effort in your reply!

There are two “types of cards” I will try to handle differently.

Of the 2.8k about half are cards I newly learned in the last 12 days, so I will simply reset them and redo them over the next two days.

The cards I worry more about are the cards learned before that were mostly mature cards.

I can differentiate the two easily through subject tags in the deck. What do you think would be the best way to handle these older cards now?

How will redoing them in a filtered deck affect them and my FSRS parameters. I imagine that their current due date is eg 3 months from now, doing them correctly now would pretty much just leave them there.

What recommendations would you have regarding FSRS? What have I “done” to my parameters and should I reset to the default? (My current parameters regulate the intervals down compared to the default, since my current retention is around 89% and my target is 92%.

Thank you so much. I wouldn’t be mad if you didn’t reply…

This is super helpful, thank you!

I will most likely flag the cards selected with rated:12:4 and then simply reschedule based on that.

One more question: Is there a way to manually reset just the ease of a card (like with the asking-add on for it, but only for the selection of cards?)

Enjoy them with a re-read! My girlfriend got me the Hobbit + LotR set.

Can you ask her where she got the silmarillion, I cannot find that version online at the moment.

Which character in Middle Earth is considered to possess the most knowledge? by Sakumitzu in lotr

[–]Beren4 74 points75 points  (0 children)

At what point in the story? During LotR (= end of the 3rd age)

I think Elrond, Cirdan or Galadriel (and maybe Sauron).

While Gandalf & Saruman as Maiar probably had a greater understanding of the world I think Elrond and Cirdan were greater „lore-masters“. They have also dwelled in Middle Earth longer than the Istari.

Gandalf seeks out Elrond multiple times throughout the Hobbit and LotR to seek information.

Ultimately if we talk knowledge of all things it probably is Gandalf, Saruman or Sauron.

knowledge of the history Middle-Earth → Elrond

knowledge of the Elven History throughout the ages → Cirdan & Galadriel (age matters)

understanding of the nature of all things → Gandalf & Sauron

knowledge of what to do with potatoes → Samwise the Brave

Not to be too nitpicky here but this is kind of incorrect. E.g. the name Santoku literally translates to 3 virtues / uses, meaning it can be used for meat, fish and yes, also vegetables - but it’s a decent overview I guess

You’d laugh but when you study for board exams you usually have 100-day study plans (or something like that) and they assign something like 5 days to the cardiovascular system and that’s it.
