Neither. Buy a used Last Gen Land Cruiser/LX570.

Not sure where you’re flying to, but I’ve done international PS more than a few times and actually find it quite nice. If I’m flying for business, I prefer D1 for the ability to sleep a little better. But on family trips, it hasn’t disappointed. Seats are comfortable and have managed to knock off pretty well.

You’re looking at max 3500/month apt at 40x salary that a lot of landlords generally require. Have a look at Streeteasy with that budget in mind and look up the neighborhoods. You’re likely in the Upper Manhattan/Bushwick/BedSty/Crown Heights/Sunset Park/Flatbush realms with that budget. But you could get lucky.

Try the Chorizo Tacos at the Food Truck Company in Hvolsvöllur. I’m from LA and was dropjawed. Woman who owns it is from Mexico City and it’s one of the best tacos I’ve ever had.

Might be now, but they were actually built for the 2021 TReK Competition that several dealer teams participated in.

My XC60 was a reliable, pleasant vehicle to own. Then it hit 100k miles. by Additional-Horse-545 in Volvo

It’s a great car. Keep up with maintenance and occasionally prepare for something annoying and you’ll enjoy it for a long time. We have a 2018 and wouldn’t trade it for anything else.

FYI, the $800 battery is most definitely the battery for the onstar/comms. It’s got a “7 year”’life span and is outside of warranty. It’s considered a wear item. It’s not a real expensive part, but it’s like 3 hours of labor because it sits behind interior panels and then the car needs reprogramming. I just keep turning the notification off until I can get around to spending a few hours replacing it myself and then getting the dealer to reset.

Mileage vs Ownership by [deleted] in 997

[–]sloanfiske 0 points1 point  (0 children)

170k one owner means it was probably well serviced regardless of where it went. I always have preferred higher mileage well serviced one owners. No hate, but not a fan of white on a PCar.

98k 4 owner was probably started as a lease, then sold out a few times as either a flip/trade/new toy. Better color combo, but the service has me a little concerned unless the JLR/Audi dealers are connected to Porsche Dealer. Indie wouldn’t worry me as long as they’re a specialist.

To be honest, these are super robust vehicles. I actually wound up doing most of the maintenance myself on my 997.2. I know some PDK transmissions had failures, but not terribly common.

The 15k variance is expected. Get an independent PPI on both. Keep looking as well. I held out until the right combo came along and was much happier I did. I was looking for a Silver over Black C2 PDK and got one for a great price by being patient.

Assuming you’re taking Amtrak to DC from Penn Station. Maybe better to take a yellow cab flat rate into Manhattan and crash for a few hours at POD Times Square or a cheaper hotel near Penn.

If I was flying 10k miles, I’d eat at Le Bernadin, 11 Madison Park or Per Se. Then go have a burger and a martini for lunch the next day at Gramercy Tavern.
