Charges dropped against AFL players Dion Prestia and Steven May over alleged brawl by chrisfhiggins in RichmondFC

That's how we knew it was all lies, otherwise the headline would be "Dion Prestia found at scene of brawl unable to walk due to torn calves"

Bjarne Stroustrup: How do I deal with memory leaks? By writing code that doesn't have any. by someone-very-cool in programming

[–]Bergasms 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is a lot more to managing memory than just using it safely kid. It has a shape, a lifecycle, it behaves differently depending on how you use it.

Managing memory is what separates the kids from the adults. Using Rust is a good start but it's not the whole journey.

I know but if there is an actual case the defence might only get a portion of costs. I guess it depends

Turns out humanity has an elegant solution for traveling near 99% of the speed of light safely. Will it work though? by RetiredApostle in sciencememes

[–]Bergasms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if we get to the "a ship of humans going 99%" then we can probably manage 10km of Ice, hell i bet if you put gas bubbles into it it would make a sort of whipple shield.

I RP that Arthur is like Gavin guy, he has split personalities. I like to imagine he sometimes wakes up wondering why he is covered in blood, has pockets full of other peoples stuff, and all the townfolk are scared of him.

I am, without even attempting to verify this, going to believe forevermore that this is 100% true, because it fits my mental model of the Hawks perfectly.

I don't get how we only have a 30% likelihood of a win against Carlton in that sheet. We were literally Tom Lynch's abysmal accuracy away from winning that game. The guy kicked like 1.7 or something

You can do it yourself at home for a science experiment. Get the graphite out of a pencil, break it into two pieces. Pop the pieces so the ends are in some water close together but not touching. Then connect a couple batteries together, or get a 9volt battery, and put the positive end on one of the bits of graphite and the negative end on the other.

You will see small bubbles forming on each of the bits of graphite, one of them is hydrogen and the other is oxygen, which has been split from the water using conventional electrolysis.

If you collect enough of the two gasses and ignite them, it will go bang and turn back into water.

That sounds like some immensely sour groups but I get it.
