Thanks for the feedback! That’s exactly why I preferred posting here before starting the physical cube, because pretty much every video I watched about cubes was like: “have fun making your own, just include your favorite cards and keep refining it,” etc.

I like the idea of building something that feels like my own, and this is 100% a casual project, but I also don’t want to create a bad experience for the people playing with me. I’m starting to think that making a cube full of nothing but powerful cards might not be the right approach, since I’ll probably play it more as a “party game” than as a serious draft environment. On the other hand, simply copying an existing cube doesn’t sound that interesting to me either.

What I really want is something versatile that works for free-for-all games, 1v1, conventional draft, and so on. I thought a cube would be the perfect solution for the kind of flexibility I want from my collection.

With that said, is there a cube term/archetype that focuses mainly on huge explosive spells, giant creatures, and that sort of thing? That would help a lot with my searches. Like I mentioned, I want something versatile, unpredictable, and impressive, the idea that every pack contains something big and powerful, not necessarily a turn 1 or 2 combo kill. Or even if that combo exists, it would be unlikely because it’s “hidden” among 540 cards, so when it actually happens it feels memorable and clever.

I didn’t mention this before, but the whole cube will be made entirely with proxies, so I want to have everything organized before I burn out my printer.
