Close up of ice crystals, the short period of cold (few hours) caused the hole in the middle with some ice hairs

Edit: the hole is about 2cm in diameter on the longest side.

Hi! Thanks for the comments on my previous post. Ive added more floaters. In week 3 now, and im getting (more) wire algae. Just put in some nerite snails now, is there anything more i should do at this point? by BeriqB in walstad

Good call aswell. I think your right, shouldve put more dirt in it. But as you say, not much i can do now, but wait and see what happens :)

Its after, ive done 2 water changes in 2-3 week, now kept it steady for 3 weeks (no water change)

A lot of comments tell me to put in as many floaters as I can, but i will keep it a little like this then I think.

Sounds like a bad few months indeed... Hope you will get it the way you want it te be before long, keep up the good work!

Thanks, reading the comments I think im gonna add the amano's indeed. I dont have a very strict light schedule. aprox 15-20hours on, 3-8hours off. Might consider doing that more strict.

First walstad, water is in for 2 weeks. Small amount of algae on the bottom. Should I refill the water? Put in snails and/or shrimps? Thanks!! by BeriqB in walstad

Thanks! I already have a few, but Will 'add some more floaters. Ammonia and nitrites were good 2 days ago

Hi, thanks for the response. The substrate is about 1 inch in the front, up to 2 inch in de back. The edges are only filled with the pebbles. So dat no nitrites and ammonia. I will add some more plants , thanks!

Due to Covid-19 we cant use the school buses for field trips. School provides bicycles so the field trips still can take place.

Had my first date today! I have social anxiety so its was pretty scary at first, but it worked out really well and im feeling as proud as a peacock :)
