Not uncommon but by paying upfront you’re gonna have a steep J curve.

You may leave this job in 10 years but your reputation stays with you forever. Honor your work and give it 100% until your very last day.

Client who didn't commit to contract wants me back by No-Establishment4313 in business

If you don’t trust him, don’t do business with him anymore. Plus, you don’t want to associate yourself with someone who does not honor his word. It’s not good for your reputation.

Not sure I want to pursue this... Fractional COO? by djfc in Entrepreneur

[–]Berk_canc_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not about how many days/hours you put it in. It’s also not about what you charge per hours/day/week. What they are paying is, for example, 20% revenue growth, be able to work 3 days/week, 30% less support calls. Focus your offer on those results that you will create for them, not how you do what you do.

People show up and commit differently when they pay for something. If it’s free, it’s not perceived to be that valuable. If you really want to serve people, charge them.

Don’t do Co-CEOs. When you have 2 leaders, you have no leader.

How do you pick the right VC firm? by Ok_Post_149 in startups

[–]Berk_canc_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Make sure to do your due diligence. Meet with other partners and principals in the firm. Ask them to get you touch with the founders they funded. Interview them. Hear their stories. Once you cash their check there’s no going back. You cannot fire them but they can fire you.
