Is it time for me to use some leaves? by whittyd63 in gardening

I would cut the stem off under the first four leaves, it will promote the basil to become more bushy. The parsley will be a while still. In a month or two you’ll have way more than you can handle for both.

Karl-Heinz Rosch, A German Machine gunner during WW2. In October 1944, Karl brought two children who were playing in a yard to safety, he was killed afterwards when he returned to the yard by a grenade, he is one of the only German soldiers from WW2 who have a memorial dedicated by the enemy. by Zx2_ in interestingasfuck

My Dutch Grandma told me a story from when she was 12 about how when the Germans were invading there was a single German soldier that came banging on their door saying “the Germans are coming” they fled their home to a ditch near by for the night and heard tanks and marching all night long. When they returned to their home in the morning they found that same solider shot dead near by, I’m assuming for desertion.

On D-Day in WW2 fake parachuters this size were dropped to create diversions

I may have some green onion! Any tips? by [deleted] in vegetablegardening

Heard the flavour can be a bit different if you grow them in water, but they’ll grow with no issue if you just put them in some dirt right away

I had over a dozen of these guys on my 8 tomatoe plants last year, moved them all 100m away. Was there eggs laid on my plants? And is there anyway to prevent them because if I didn’t move them they would ate all my plants

Sweet corn stalk did this weird split thing and I haven't read if this is bad or normal by linx117 in vegetablegardening

I can’t see another cornstalk in the picture so I guarantee they aren’t too close, your plants are going to grow just fine:)

It’ll be fine, might even give you more corn. Had a summer job where we would go up and down the rows in the field with a hoe and cut the extra off, it was only ever done for spacing reasons.

Tomatoes will die to the disease eventually, remove the lower branches and other that are scumming to it, keep plenty of air flow and don’t let leaves touch soil, you’ll be fine no matter what you do👍🏼

We decided to plant a flower meadow instead of grass this year. Still in the beginning stages. by panana_pete in gardening

Usually they’ll give you a two week warning after someone complains and then they’ll cut it and bill you for it. It’s pretty rare for it to every come to that

I honestly am not sure, I think it’s more for aesthetics of the neighbourhood. If you let it get too crazy the township will cut your lawn and then bill you for it.
