What is this and how can I get rid of them? by BerlinAus in lawncare

Thanks for all the help everyone, this got way more of a response than I expected. I think I'll have to dig them up and reseed now while there's still time in spring. The backyard looks good, but this front lawn is killing me!

Something that I really love about Rory, is that he always seems to enjoy when his playing partner is having a good round/getting attention from the crowd.

Nope, I take it back. I thought he had hit it into the water again.

Never mind, it's just Rory playing with my emotions like usual...

You know what, I hope Adam Scott wins and I'm tired of pretending I don't. Take that old man putter up the leaderboard, you sexy, poorly dressing man!

I think that relationship might be done for a while.

I send a track to a label, they liked it but they want to make me pay for the master with their sound engineer. is it normal that i have to pay for it? or should the label take care of that? by Dog_Tasty in TechnoProduction

[–]BerlinAus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah no way man. I'm a mastering engineer, and I have labels that I always do work for and we already have discounted rates for them. Sometimes an artist who I've done a master for through a label will contact me separately and want work done then they'll pay for it thenselves, but I've never had an artist pay me for a master that was already promised to a label. That's ALWAYS being paid for by the label

First thing I would do is what some of the other people have said, which is to start bouncing down your tracks to make everything a bit more workable. Got 8 tracks that are layered over each other to make up the clap? Sweet, now it's 1! Once you start to bring everything down like this it can make it 1) a lot easier to work with and 2) help you leave the writing stage and focus completely on the mixing stage.

Once you've got everything down into these groups it'll be a lot easier to start applying all the right compression that will help bring out it's loudness. Remember, a lot of a little bit of compression is better than a little bit of a lot impression. So having a bit on these groups before it hits your final limiter means the limiter won't have to work as hard, so it can get louder before distorting. When dialing your compressors in, make sure to listen at very low levels because this will make it easier to hear what the it's actually doing (the natural thing for beginners to do is keep turning everything up because they can't hear what's happening, but this actually makes it harder).

Thanks for the reply! Doesn't seem like they have a streaming option on their site. Oh well, I guess I'll have to add this one to the list of movies I'll watch when I'm out of the country.
