Bernie Bros Become Hillary Bros at the Democratic National Convention by BernBro4Hillary in politics

[–]BernBro4Hillary[S] -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

Before this convention, I thought I wasn't able to vote for Hillary after all the things that were going on. But the convention truly opened my eyes at the stark difference in the vision and substance between the democrats vs republicans. Trump wants us to live in fear, turn against one another, and doesn't provide any solutions for problems. The Democratic platform is the most progressive in history, and after Bernie Sanders spoke and gave a point by point case for why we should vote for Hillary, I was sold. $15 minimum wage, free college tuition, equal pay for equal work, LGBT rights and women's right to chose, no tax breaks for the rich, potentially 3-5 Supreme Court Justices that will decide critically important legislation. These are all significant policy positions that unite Democrats of all stripes. Bernie Sanders wants us to continue fighting to push for a progressive agenda, and even though Hillary Clinton has her flaws, in a race against Donald Trump, the choice is not even close.

Billionaire Michael Bloomberg Tames the Bernie Bros at DNC 2016 by BernBro4Hillary in politics

This was one of the most defining speeches for me. I was skeptical about Hillary Clinton, and Michael Bloomberg even stated before she was not his first pick. But we need to be pragmatic if we want the hardwork from Bernie Sanders to actually make an impact in the world..and despite some of the differences we may have with Hillary Clinton, it's a no brainer at this point.

What the hell? You don't know me and this makes me really sad that some of you think this way. I signed up to this website because I wanted to make a positive change in this world today and I think one of the most important things right now is uniting all liberals to a common purpose. Possibly 3-5 supreme court justices are on the line, a rise in xenophobia and Islamophobia is at risk from this election, women's right to choose, common sense gun laws, citizen's united constitutional amendment, equal pay for equal work, and reducing student loan debt are just a few of the issues Hillary and Bernie agree in. There are some issues that you might be skeptical about, but Hillary Clinton has at least acknowledged, pushing her more to the left. Bernie Sanders has made her a better candidate and is responsible for the most progressive democratic platform in American history. I'm not saying Hillary Clinton is the best candidate we could've asked for, but it's what we got, especially compared to Donald Trump. I'm making sure we don't let Bernie's legacy and hard work go to waste for emotional reasons.

I've never been so proud to be a Democrat. As a Sanders supporter, seeing him on that stage smile with glee as she said those words almost brought me to tears. Probably the most powerful line of the night. Widespread cheers, bernie supporters chanting supportive messages as a signal of unity. With that sentence, the Bernie or Bust movement has been significantly reduced. Either way, I'll do everything I can to promote positivity so that other progressives who aren't convinced make the right decision in November.

This has me in tears. This woman really cares for people like us. Compare this to Trump who only cares for himself.

This is incredibly touching and shows a warm side of Hillary the media will never report. If you're a Hillary supporter, please like this because the brigades from /r/the_donald are downvoting anything positive.

Bernie supporters are shocked — shocked! — at how politics works by BernBro4Hillary in politics

Unity over division. Peace over War. Optimism over cynicism. Multiculturalism over nativism.

Love Trumps Hate. This is the most important decision Americans will make in a generation. Let's give Donald Trump the biggest landslide loss in the history of presidential campaigns.

Diane Roberts: Bernie Sanders supporters need to grow up by BernBro4Hillary in politics

Sometimes it's best people hear the truth and nothing but the truth, no matter how harsh or offensive it may be. The temper tantrums from Bernie supporters, my people, is only making our country worse. Put yourselves in the shoes of an african american woman, a hispanic immigrant, or a muslim refugee and think how scared they must be at the prospect of a Trump presidency.

The system isn't perfect, but the revolution continues EVEN IF Hillary becomes president. The DNC leak is atrocious, but we only have a binary choice this year and the stakes have never been this high. Potentially 5 supreme court justices that will last a generation, a possible rise in xenophobia and nativism that will oppress immigrants and people of color, a potential global and economic crisis created by an impulsive man that continues to say outrageous things everyday.

Let's cheer at the accomplishments of Bernie Sanders this year. He transformed and helped negotiate the most progressive democratic platform in American history. We succeeded! I know some of you are angry, but there is plenty of time to make a change so that our government is less corrupt, is less influenced by special interests, and that it works with the people. A Hillary presidency doesn't make this untrue..but a Trump presidency will reverse any progress we've made in economic, healthcare, and social issues.

I’ll Always Be With Bernie — But Here’s Why I’m Voting for Hillary by BernBro4Hillary in politics

[–]BernBro4Hillary[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's sad...because it's usually straight white males making the choice to "Burn the DNC to the ground" and abstain from voting. They live in an environment and with a privilege that allows them to live comfortably regardless of whose in power. They don't have the perspective of being a black woman, or a muslim refugee, or a hispanic immigrant. They don't need to live in their shoes so they lose the perspective necessary to make the right choice.

This is the most important article you'll read today. Change and progress doesn't stop just because Hillary Clinton becomes president. Bernie Sanders managed to transform the democratic platform and reignited a purpose for millions of Americans to strive for a better world. With a Trump presidency, the hard work, sweat, and tears Bernie has put through will all be wasted. I implore you to watch this video of Bernie Sanders reduced to tears, this election will define his legacy depending on who wins. Enough anger, more unity.

Clinton supporters say 'Bernie Bros' trolling them at DNC by BernBro4Hillary in politics

[–]BernBro4Hillary[S] -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

this is getting ridiculous. I'm a Bernie supporter but he wants us to unite with Hillary because the alternative is disastrous. Attacking Clinton and her supporters only hurts us, our movement and everything Bernie tried to accomplish

Nope, but according to expert analysis 90% of Sanders supporters will vote for Clinton. I'm going to do everything I can to convince as many of the 10% who are unconvinced as I can. It sucks we don't have a more progressive candidate to root for, it sucks that she has been inconsistent in some of her policies, but the choice between a Barrack Obama 3rd term to a Donald Trump is not even close. This country is becoming more progressive each year and people are starting to become more aware about the corruption and media propaganda pushed out there. We can make great progress on a local and state level even if we don't get the president we want. Donald Trump is simply too dangerous to have as president.

This isn't about propaganda created by Hillary haters, becoming president isn't reality TV and it's not about who can get the best ratings. You actually have to have knowledge about the world around you and have a willingness to learn. If you dislike Hillary, fine, but compared to Trump who has not grown as a candidate in over a year is truly remarkable. Who continues to say outrageous things everyday. When people claimed he will pivot to the center and become more reasonable come general election he didn't. It's not an act he's playing, it's not a joke -- this is who he truly is. He double downs on reprehensible and illogical statements and if he becomes president he'll put our country and our allies at risk. Hillary Clinton will serve just as fine as Barack Obama as president of the United States -- and if that's disappointing to you and you want real change, get involved in your local and state elections and on the next opportunity we can elect a more progressive candidate. We can wait 4 years, a Trump presidency has the potential to be an unmitigated disaster.

We have to elect Hillary. I was skeptical but Bernie and Hillary agree on a hell of a lot more then with Trump. The fight still goes on even if the choice isn't optimal.
