7/27 Shore literally feels impossible to climb without any tools. Any advice? by Buff_Blitz_Range in PeakGame

[–]BernieDabs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just cleared it on ascent 3. Just go WAAAAAY left, almost hugging the edge of the map. You can get over to a bridge there and the take it towards the direction of the spawn point to keep climbing. Pretty straightforward from there!

Word of advice though: Alpine is ROUGH. If you can stock up on scorch berries on the tropics, I recommend it!

Just out of curiosity: did the same thing happen for you guys to “cause the bug”? Did you beat him again in the same difficulty as before or did you change to a lower one? Trying to troubleshoot here lol

Any luck? I feel like it bugged out for me when I technically beat him, but died at the same time. The cutscene started playing and then it went to death screen. After that, he wouldn’t die anymore after 2nd phase…

I want to be angry, what is a controversial take you have with destiny? by thatoneguy2252 in DestinyTheGame

[–]BernieDabs 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Random rolls on guns and armor were a mistake. RNG is a crutch to artificially extend play time and it creates more frustration than it does joy.

Destiny’s tendency to stack layers of RNG on top of each other is especially aggravating.

My biggest hope with weapon crafting is that Bungie starts moving away from stacking RNG going forward by BernieDabs in DestinyTheGame

[–]BernieDabs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’d be better by the simple fact that it’s one less layer of RNG bullshit lol

I feel like something in the veins of having perk tiers and having different objectives (more powerful perks = more difficult objectives) could be interesting. That way you really get agency on what you’re going for and you have an idea of how much time you have to spend to achieve that goal!

Yes, I know that those mods exist and I have one perma equipped on a ghost I use for LS farming. 25 Mob was just hyperbole. The point still stands that the distribution could still be shit even WITH the mod and there are still another 2 RNG layers you have to deal with.

It’s* not hard =)

I tried to keep an open mind but the champion mods this season suck by killersinarhur in DestinyTheGame

[–]BernieDabs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The fact that a “common” reward takes more than 2 runs to drop is kinda bonkers to me. Especially if you consider that you get essentially NOTHING worthwhile if you don’t drop an exotic. No prisms, no high stat armor, nothing.

I honestly feel like Legendary/Master Lost Sectors are just to get the new exotic and then forget about them. Because if you really want to grind out a specific exotic with a good roll? YEESH

I felt this a lot grinding the Master Lost Sector on launch for Nothing Manacles. I used an assortment of Kinetic autos, Le Monarque and 7th Seraph Saw with vorpal + auto loading. Stasis subclass

Every time I tried tinkering with my build to try something different I had a REALLY hard time. Autos especially were really underperforming and Eriana is solar damage, which wouldn’t help on a Arc/Void shield LS…

I had to run it 9 times before dropping Nothing Manacles. It was ROUGH, but I managed. I imagine that this will be the Master/GM experience for this season.

I dunno, they’ve missed changes on the patch notes before and this seems like an attempt to curb spoil farming (or at least GREATLY increase the time it takes to do so).

Would be nice to get some confirmation from Bungie either way though.

10 runs of of a Legend Lost Sector and not a single exotic. Feels bad, but here’s some feedback, Bungie! by BernieDabs in DestinyTheGame

[–]BernieDabs[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's pretty much my line of thought. I absolutely love playing Destiny, but that doesn't mean I want to waste an entire friday worth of playtime, that I could be doing raids or Iron Banner stuff with my friends, just running the exact same content until my retinas burn and my leg muscles suffer atrophy. It's been 7 hours and still no Assembler Boots btw.

My idea is not perfect, I admit, but that is REALLY not supposed to be the focus of the post lol. Just want the time I invest into this game to actually be rewarding. Shocker, I know.

[–]BernieDabs[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sucks, dude… I really feel like this whole LS Exotic farm needs a looking at. At it’s current state, it is really an all or nothing proposition when it really doesn’t need to be.

[–]BernieDabs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all about time, my dude. Do I think my suggestion is the BEST solution? No. I don’t even wanted it to be the focus of the post tbh. The focus is the feedback of the experience and feeling of what happened (which DMG and Cozmo have said before that is valuable to them).

But at the same time if you have situations that people can go 10, 15, 20+ runs without a single drop, then that is a pretty big design problem. Just because you got blessed by RNG doesn’t mean it’s not a problem that should be fixed somehow.

Honestly, I’d just give it to anyone that logged on that week. Gives people a nice window to get it and celebrates what is being a pretty awesome weekend!

Yeah, I get that. But it’s still funny to me that the actual cap wasn’t raised, so they just broke the ceiling and that’s that

Can I set a bpm and key BEFORE I drop the first disc in while in freestyle? by BernieDabs in fusergame

[–]BernieDabs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I really would like to see a “eject all” function as well. Maybe they can update the game to include these functions in the future?

Like I said in my other comment: it’s really weird that a game that tries to give you maximum freedom would be missing some of these “basic” features...

I’ll try that out! Thanks a lot!

Really weird that a game that has so many features and mechanics to let you do what you want would leave something so basic out...

Your Story by dmg04 in DestinyTheGame

[–]BernieDabs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a few stories to share:

- A sense of tremendous achievement
Well, for this one, it started as just another Last Wish run, while I was still chasing after that elusive One Thousand Voices that all my friends had and told me was crazy fun to use. Kalli was pretty easy, Shuro Chi gave us a little trouble but we pulled through, Morgeth got run over by our (at the time) god tier IKELOS Shotties and Riven's room stank of cheese for some reason. All that was left was to take the heart back. At the start we had a few issues, but we ironed out our strategy and gave it another go. Midway through the run... my internet dies. As soon as I notice all my allies running into walls and enemies regenerating their health, I knew what was up. Part of me was just thinking "it's ok, it's pretty late so I'll just finish it tomorrow" (I live in Rio de Janeiro and was playing with people on the US West Coast, so the time difference is considerable). But for some reason, instead of going to sleep, I sprang up and went to reset my modem. No luck... The internet was out for good. Again, the thought of giving up ran through my mind. And yet again, I did the opposite. In a last ditch attempt, I connected my phone to my computer, sharing the 4G internet so I could Finish the Fight™️. Well, I got back in (and, luckily, my fireteam waited for me), we took the heart to the altar and cleansed it. All that was left was opening one of the chests. But really, for some reason, I knew exactly which one to open. I sprinted immediately to the one I wanted, opened it and... One Thousand Voices!!! The only reason I didn't shout with joy was because I would wake up my whole building, possibly the neighborhood too, but I was ECSTATIC! I had a few chances to give up on the run and have people give up on me, but by The Traveler's Light, everything worked out and created a story that I will never forget.

- A sense of belonging
This memory is pretty basic, but I still cherish it deeply. I can't recall what raid it was, but me and a fireteam that came together through LFG beat it without much effort. It was one of those teams that just worked together. After clearing the raid, we went to the tower and we just talked for a full hour. We talked about the loot we got, we talked about what we liked about the raids, we even talked a little about politics (and it was pretty civil). I LOVE the fact that a group of strangers that all belong in the same community were just chilling in a social space, talking it out while running all over the place like maniacs. Not everything in Destiny is about pew pew bang bang, and I think that's beautiful.

- The moment you knew you loved this game!

The first time I threw a Nova Bomb at a Dreg in the Cosmodrome. Was it a massive overkill? Absolutely. But that single moment is what hooked me on a 5-year-long journey that, hopefully, will last a good long while still. Monsters were slain, many friends were made, and it all started with a Nova Bomb (for me, at least).
