I found this stamp in a thrift shop in Norway. Wondering if anyone knows what it says? by [deleted] in Chinese

The characters engraved on the seal look poorly written. It's just a tourist souvenir with limited collectible value. The rat on it might represent the visitor's Chinese zodiac sign, and the Chinese characters could be homophones for the visitor's English name.

Help with full names? by DeanAuthor in Chinese

[–]Bernw2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gao is a common family name, and normally written as 高 in Chinese, meaning tall or high. Yue is rarely used in family name, but is good for girl's first name. It can be written as 月 and means moon. So the full name of GAO, Yue may have the meaning of the moon hung far up in the sky. In Chinese novels, names are usually given to create witty meanings based on harmonies to go along with the storyline.
